QUOTE(Chisinlouz @ Feb 24 2017, 07:22 PM) Perhaps you may try to contact meguiar's direct:https://m.facebook.com/meguiardirect.my or http://meguiarsdirect.com.my/ Personally I prefer its "Professional Detailer Series" and "Mirror Glaze Series" of products only. Its professional detailer series offers bang for the buck. |

QUOTE(vspl000 @ Mar 26 2017, 03:11 PM) Hi, I didn't use Triplewax Waterless wash before but in my opinion waterless wash can't be compared with/replaced traditional wash.Has anyone used Triplewax Waterless Wash and Shine before? How does it fair against more premium brand's waterless solution (i.e. Meguiars), while taking the price into account. OR Should I just stick to the traditional wash, wax and coat process and not use any of the waterless solution? If your ride is full with dirts, waterspots and muds, you just can't use waterless washing method as it will induce swirls when all those contaminant particles rubbing the painted surfaces. Waterless solution only can be used in those lighter dirty car. Below some threads FYI: Link 1 Link 2 Btw...Meguiar's is not considered premium products lol It's just the price "premium" in here. |

QUOTE(daryl020189 @ Apr 7 2017, 05:25 PM) any idea if ceramic or glass coating is better? been informed that ceramic need to service every 4 months while glass coating do not. Which is better to prevent scratches and keep the car shiny? It's depends on the quality of the coating, not to judge by which type. All types of coating need proper maintenance (example: light polish to remove some defects and top up with spray sealant/top coat) after a while lol your parking conditions affecting the formation of watermarks on the coating as well (example: you can't compare indoor parking with 24 hours outdoor parking). scratches - more layer of coating (coating hardness affected by the coating thickness and panel hardness) will more resist to scratches and the gloss. You can't compare 5H hardness with 9H hardness coating. Keywords here is more RESIST, not PREVENT scratches. gloss - affected by layers of coating, how well you take care, parking environment etc In my humble opinion, coating not very suitable for Malaysian weather as at some point (let's say 3-6 months once) we need to do paint cleaning. Paint cleaning will affect coating properties that most probably will void the warranty. Coating has its pros and cons but I choose to just regularly wash and wax/seal. For summary you may refer to below link: Glass vs Ceramic Coating |

QUOTE(clickNsnap @ Apr 10 2017, 08:32 PM) Thanks for your advise. Soft99 Luster I would say it is cleaner wax rather than for pure protection. It's not serving to be used too frequently.Mine one and wax i have with me now is...the blue bottle soft99, its written instruction stated Not For Metalic and Pearl paint, I thought all the other brand has metalic and non-metalic wax Most likely i will send the car to car wash centre to do the proper compound/waxing/polisinh. Btw, any recommended good and resonable priced car wash centre near PJ area? I am thinking of using the "spray wax" after each car wash...as recommended in gfwong's blog. Cleaner wax you need to be careful with your choice due to its material. For example: Collinite #840 it is not suitable for dark clear coat finished due to it will make it dull after using it (light clear coat finished less likely to detect at first glance). As for pure protection, personally I am using sealant for white/light coloured car and carnauba wax for dark coloured car. Sealant tends to have more gloss whereas carnauba wax tends to have more warmth. |

QUOTE(clickNsnap @ Apr 11 2017, 10:55 PM) Thanks for advise, I like your blog  To be honest, a decent polishing ( paint correction) job will need at least 7-8 hrs to do it (from wash to wax steps) . Still, it depends on the paint conditions. Thanks for the info, I will only use the Soff99 to clean some road tar... not for waxing the whole car. Will apply spy wax after car wash and hope this help to keep the car paint in good condition. I checked with car wash centre near my place, it costs RM270 to wash>clay>polish>wash again>wax and it takes 4 hours to do the job...not sure it is worth trying? |

QUOTE(clickNsnap @ Apr 18 2017, 10:11 PM) You are right! It took me almost 9 hours to complete the tasks by hands wow, it took you about 6 hours to clay? Since my car worth only RM20+k, I decided to DIY myself and save some money, the GP clay, sealant, a few pcs of MF & wax cloth...cost me less than RM70. I will follow gfwong's advise apply spray wax (Turtle express shine) after each car wash, hope this keep up the car well 1st pix: before and after claying (left side with clayjng) 2nd pix: end result... The 50:50 photo there I thought is before and after using PG Sealant, nice job there It was old photo, paint condition was 3 years cheapo respray paint, wash, clay, AIO, and one layer of sealant: ![]() I don't have 50:50 picture but you can compare with side white saga: ![]() |

QUOTE(gfwong @ Apr 30 2017, 11:07 PM) Update on Synthetic Waxes Durability Test Update: Week 2 The wax content in Meg's ultimate wash and wax would somehow interfered the results. This is a quick update on the initial post. Note: Just for sharing and results are subjective based on personal observations. Perhaps you should use the non wax mild car shampoo for the test purpose, such as optimum car wash. Some users avoided using those wash and wax car shampoo because they like the water beads from their wax of choice. |

QUOTE(gfwong @ May 2 2017, 08:14 AM) I doubt the "wax" in the Meg Ultimate Wash & Wax is significant enough to do anything. I did a test on the wash before. See here. Even if it does, should it not "enhance" Meg Ultimate Paste Wax? Since they are both from the same range. Not sure for Meg's ultimate wash and wax (most of them when testing, use gold class instead), but several friends tried other brands of wash and wax shampoo, such as CG, it more or less alter the beading pattern of the base wax.Not a straight forward answer but let me share what I think. Please bear with me. If water beads up it shows that the surface is hydrophobic and because of the surface tension of water, it will not "wet" the surface and beads up. The general idea of a hydrophobic surface is that dirty liquid will not "wet" and smear all over the surface. But if those water droplets are left to stay till to dry (and with some dirt encapsulated in them), there could potentially be water mark. So I read. IMHO sealants protects the paint by being a sacrificial barrier. It prevents dirt from sticking directly onto the paint. Be it hydrophobic or slick. So a slick surface that sheets away water and dirt is as good as a surface that beads water. It is just that a surface that beads water gives a Wow effect. And this is where the marketing gimmick works, I guess It can't really say enhance, cause the water beading/shedding pattern follows the top layer of protective layer. |

QUOTE(newhouseowner @ Jul 25 2021, 08:58 PM) I wanted to know too, why you say fake? From the outside, it looks perfectly genuine to me except the golden sticker. I don't know what it is. If you open the cap, you can see the seal with printed meguiar brand on it. If don't have, probably is fake. The golden sticker is hypercoat hologram sticker. As I remember, the seal would not have "Meguiars" printed on it, just general type. This packing as I know from Meguiars Malaysia (or Hypercoat) only. The USA version with the volume of oz whereas this xxxg is from local Meguiars. Quazacolt liked this post
