two cars for nano coat for the weekend. Too old already to do detailing myself. Happy with the shop, who took the time to explain in detail the process and the materials used. Also quality wise is good from my point of view. They will also do house calls etc. for those who require

Hmm by right, they should apply the coating for you again after the polish since is just a small area. Is more like part of after sales service.

Today just finish my car wash! Really satisfied with meguiars products!

After car wash with meguiars ultimate car wash, apply ultimate quik wax. My car now is smooth like silk.

Quik wax is really good product to use in between every ultimate paste wax in 2 or 3 months time.
*
wanna check with you, do you use quik detailer? just wondering the sequence of using the quik detailer and quik wax.
Actually I am not really sure how to apply the quik wax, can see layers on my black car after the application even though i apply very thin layer only. for example the front car bonnet only spray 3 - 4 time. Quik Detailer will not have this issue.

Ouch, I feel your pain! Seriously I do!

My car got kissed 2 months plus back, the tow car managed to scratch my exhaust and front skirting somehow got dislocated and some scratches from the towing, refuse to be responsible. damn pain my heart.

And just last week a stone cracked my windscreen. Trying to file a claim from plus highway now.

Not to mention I have not been practicing weekly wash. The car now requires a full detailing and it's being driven without any protection.
*
Heartache loh. Hopefully you are able to claim from Plus on the cracked windscreen.
Since it has been raining every weekend here in Penang, until flooded in most area, my car is also "naked" for quite some time.
Praying for sunny weekends.

I have done mine at Regal Valet and they are professional and provide good after sales service. They are always willing to help if you have any issue after the coating.

But bear in mind, actually whatever coating also need maintenance or good taking care even though they provide the 4 or 5 years warranty. I don't think there is any coating can survive permanent. Especially coating can not prevent water spot. This is just my research after done some online browsing.  smile.gif

price for RV is more expensive.

ceramic provides "partial recoating for free". e.g. got scratched etc but not RV.

how long have you done yours and how is it now?

How to remove the tear-drop-like thingy below the door handles? When the microfiber goes through the area, it feels sticky

Did you park your car under any tree + bake under hot sun?
It doesn't look like water stains for me, plus etched water stains will not give you a "sticky" feel.

You can try out with claybar approach first. If it's not working, you may try out other alternative as below:
- Tarspot remover which contains petroleum distillates to remove the sticky dirt
- Cleaner wax (eg: Soft99 Meta Clean,etc.)
- Finally, polish it

Ya, most of the time it's parked at outdoor from 8am-5pm. No tree, just sun.
I will try clay bar first. On my white car, it did happens also. I have to use cleaner wax every week to remove the layer of dirt. So I thought what's is the cause of this. Only happens below the door handles and side mirrors.

Hi all sifu,

Been trying to get info on vinyl dye (spray paint), in vain. Can anyone shed some light on where to get this?

I intend to DIY the door trims on my old satria.

Thank you for all your kind help.

is your door handle and side mirror plastic? if yes, try giving those parts a good clean.
once in a while i will use degreaser to clean, then a multipurpose cleaner and brush to clean it. it's quite common with handles (even with non-plastic part) and near plastic parts.

if you do apply dressing on those plastic parts, it could be it.

I done mine(M4 package) since august till now. Actually I went back twice to ask them settle some issue for me and they are willing to help without charges. I am not sure the partial recoating free service. For RV, they do apply back the coating for the area for free if polish work is required. at least I went through this twice. Can say most of the time they are willing to help.
And they have a activcare session(cost around RM500) for the outside and interior maintenance which include remove the swirl marks, light scratches and reapply the coating again if not mistaken. I think you will only need to do this if you have serious swirl or scratches issue on your car after apply the coating. RV is using GYEON(korean) product, can online do some research on the products.
My friend has done coating for few cars by RV and the result are quite good. I can see one of his car still looks shinny after 3 years. smile.gif

However, this is just my experience with RV. Ceramic Pro is quite famous also and can see a lot peoples are using them. Maybe you can get some feedback from any of them first.

Btw, what car you are planning to coat?

Hi guys, need opinion on buying either meguiars Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo or Ultimate Wash & Wax.

i usually will wax my car with Kit Wax about once a month.

so if i use the meguiars Ultimate Wash & Wax before waxing the car, will the Kit wax actually removes the meguiars wax?

or if i already wax my car with the Kit wax, will the meguiars Ultimate Wash & Wax later removes the already applied wax??

AFAIK, wax'es doesn't have cleaning abilities thus I dont think you waxing the car after that would remove the meguiars wax.
Unless you are using a cleaner wax, then that might be a different story.
If you're compounding/polishing, then it would also remove your layer of wax.

i see.

its just that i usually will use the Kit wax for cleaning really stubborn stains such as the dark lines that usually appeared under the door handles,
and it has that kerosene smells to it that makes me think it has some strong cleaning attribute. sweat.gif

solvent in some wax actually will remove the previous wax layer if it is strong enuf.. that one leave to you as i not sure what is the situation

btw, forget about the ultimate wash wax protection. the wax protection is almost negliable as with most of the wash and wax product.

No, it will probably remove or get mixed up with the Meguiars because of the kerosense like solvent or abrasive cleaners if its in there. The amount of wax in washes is very low anyway. Many waxes have some sort of cleaning/abrasive ability even if they are not advertised as cleaner waxes.
