So bought this to try out on plastic trim both interior and external of the car. Tried it on beemer especially the interior hard plastic trim. The thing about this conti, the hard plastic tends to melt and feel sticky overtime. This product worked wonder! Now it no longer feels sticky πŸ˜• and it is smooth as hell! Hope it lasts 😁😁😁

I got this too, still waiting for it to arrive.. Previously bought IGL Dash but noticed it easily fade when contact with water, quite surprised it's priced at RM34 for a branded ceramic coating and it even comes with a precoat cleaner, should have sapu a few more.Β  biggrin.gif

First rain drop after couple of weeks curing on the CX3 with Cerakote Graphene spray... Looks equivalent good to SnS I think while smoothness improves after a week

Yup per faujc99 after dry off. Need to note, car was clayed, compound, polish, ceramic coated and topped off with Cerakote

Am using this on my beemer interior and on other car's plastic exterior. It's been holding well and very easy to apply. When I bought it was only $35 but now the price is like 😒😒😒

my cerakote arrived today! lol
*
My experience of using cerakote let it cure as long as possible ie few days to a week for better durability
. Then again maybe it's gotta to do with my combo cheap glass ceramic coating. My $60 dpro ceramic is holding well too after a year

When you mentioned cure, what does it mean? Coz I can only have it washed on Sunday morning and after that Monday need fetch kid to school already lol
*
Means after applying leave it to dry for few days... Below is before and after wash before CNY. Stains washed off easily per pics below....

This is daughter's car next month is 5 yrs old and end of warranty with Honda. Car parked outside 24/6 since 5 yrs back.

Depends how long your car has been waiting in the yard for you 🀣 if the paint is fully cured then no issue. If it’s some hot selling car that gets sold the moment it exits factory then best to wait.
*
How long would you recommend to wait? πŸ˜†

Hi guys..

Anyone diy IGL EZ here? What to expect and best practices for this? Planning to complete my coating project this Friday evening. Car is prepped...
Rinse car and let it dry
Apply IGL precoat spray on panel and wipe
Apply IGL EZ wait a couple of mins for it to flash before buff off
Per instructions only one layer is required
Allow to cure for couple of days
Then finish off with Cerakote Graphene spray coating

Haha i also just did mine an hour ago.. 1st timer too.
I didnt wait a couple of mins tho.. preparation was really tiring (gave up on clay & polish)
*
So how's the smoothness and gloss level?

QUOTE(BlueHeng @ Apr 22 2022, 08:35 AM)
No need for a couple mins to flash off. I've checked with IGL's rep - with Malaysia's temperature it'll flash almost instantly. Leaving it for a couple of mins will be way too long and it'll become very tacky to remove. I've tried leaving for approx 30secs and that seems to be the sweet spot.
Also I wouldn't put on another layer of Cerakote Graphene. The product isn't tested with it (unless you don't mind being the guinea pig, I welcome that. Just let me know how well it works lol) and we're not sure what would happen since IGL EZ takes up to 5 days to fully cure. Better if you let the product fully cure first and then use Cerakote after your first wash as somewhat of an additional topper.

I've installed mine 3 months back and so far the coating still seems to be holding up very well. No additional sprays or toppers used. Also my car is left 24/7 outdoors under the sun and rain. I'd be quite impressed if it can last for 6 months. haha.
*
Is it still glossy and smooth? No topper?

QUOTE(sonotme @ Apr 22 2022, 01:52 PM)
But still can drive, right? Takkan no car for 5 days.. sad.gif
Just dont wash for 5 days?

Think it's OK so long it is not raining

Glossy yes, but doesn't feel as slick now. I suspect there's a little contaminants on the coating now. However it's still very hydrophobic. No, no topper. I want to see how well it performs on its own. That's the whole point of having a coating right? Otherwise I'll just use a spray coating on my car each time I wash my car instead of applying this semi-permanent coating.  biggrin.gif

How about water spot (I've black colored carsπŸ˜‚)? Any issue? The reason I'm going with graphene is the supposedly resistance to water spot as compared to ceramic glass coating. WELL IGL claimed last a year not sure if they meant without having to use topper but hoping you'll keep us updated from time to time

In any event, even on existing cars with ceramic coated, I'll still use topper every few months to maintain and extend my cheap ceramic coated DPro product.

BTW update on IGL EZ, the application is a lot more easier to apply and it flashes fast, almost less than 1 min. This makes it faster to complete the coating for entire car. Still have about half a bottle to go which I might reserve for other cars (just front bonnet, hood and rear trunk πŸ˜†) come next CNY. For the doors/bumper I'll probably try/use cheaper ceramic brand mcm Glanzy+

I've had some waterspots. But like I said my car is parked outdoors 24/7. And honestly the 'graphene' content is so little it's just a marketing gimmick.. but doesn't mean the coating isn't good. Still works great. Just don't buy into the 'graphene' too much. If you check their SDS, it says graphene "0.1-1%" content only.. really that's not enough to make much of a difference. That's why a lot of other famous brands are not going with graphene anyway but they still work extremely well... examples are CarPro and Gyeon.
Wow I coated my X50 and I've only used approx 1/4 bottle haha. Yeap the flash time is extremely fast. So don't leave it for too long. I recommend wiping the bottle cap properly, closing tightly and if possible wrapping with some tape for storage. I wrapped the threads with cling wrap for better sealing. It's good for 6 months storage after opening if stored properly.
*
Carpro needs couple of layers πŸ˜… think I've been too generous in applying but then again per their SA chat a bottle is good for 2 cars πŸ€” as I used them on the windows and windscreen too 😁

On water spot did you managed to clean it up? I've got their Delete and planning to use it next weekend to clean up the other rides since it gonna be a long holiday

Well will see how it hold up in my environment πŸ˜›

QUOTE(celciuz @ Apr 23 2022, 11:35 PM)
Store the ceramic coating in the fridge, can last longer biggrin.gif I kept some more than 1 year didn't harden up.
