QUOTE(V429 @ Oct 30 2019, 03:47 PM) Eih, long time no see you here Bro. ayam here lurking Was wondering did you saw the recent Obsessed Garage interview with Colourlock? Turns out coated leather become porous over time and leather conditioner can be used in this situation! Lol! stopped watching OG videos because its soooooo damn long! Porous because the clear coat is removed after years on usage/friction. Nice area to venture if you have time/money to spend |

![]() Finally tested the product after purchasing it 7 months ago. Applied to a Black Honda with no prep (just normal wash) but not with the spray and rinse method but 1. wash car 2. dry car 3. apply on a small panel using damp MF pad. 4. buff off with damp MF cloth It has some cleaners to it and it darkens the paint!. A friend asked if i just polished the car yesterday oh it has a nice scent to it too |

QUOTE(woodentiger86 @ Nov 4 2019, 10:02 AM) Hmm interesting. Damp towel method. no streaking with the damp towel Does it streak a lot with this method? I have had quite a bad experience with HCW using either of the steps laid out in the instruction previously, especially the first time application. How's the end result? result = someone asked if i just polished the car = so must be good |

QUOTE(pin0245 @ Nov 4 2019, 09:12 AM) Hi guys, i'm asking as i'm not sure am i doing it right. baked dirt/road grime/etc2 = remove with AIO. Then Wax/Seal with weapon of choice and wash frequently During the last weekend, i washed my car using Karcher K2 Pressure Washer, and it was my first time using it. The last wash previously was about 1 month ago due to the frequent rainy days over the past weeks. My method of washing was: Step 1: wet the car using K2 pressure washer Step 2: Spray the car shampoo on all over the car (i'm using Turtle Wax Wash and Wax Shampoo) Step 3: leave it for about 5 minutes Step 4: Rinse the car with K2 pressure washer Step 5: wash the car with mitt, and another half bucket of TW Wash and Wax shampoo Step 6: Rinse the car again with K2 pressure washer But after that, i find my whole car still have stubborn dirt somewhat likely those oily greasy dirt although i'm using power 2 on the nozzle gun which meant for car washing purpose. First part of question: I want to know is it advisable for me to use on power 3 which meant for floor and wall brick cleaning to see if it is able to clean away those stubborn dirt on my car? Or there's something wrong i did on the method i use to wash the car and cause it to has the stubborn dirt hard to be remove? Second part of question: Those dirt are hard to remove even i'd use wash mitts with shampoo or microfiber towel to clean it, but some may removed if i use my finger, and some totally cannot be remove with finger. To this extend, is polishing able to remove the dirt? Sorry for a long questions, seeking opinion and experience sharing from fellow detailer and thanks in advance! |

QUOTE(woodentiger86 @ Nov 4 2019, 07:00 PM) Cool. So apply with damp towel, then buff with another damp towel? Or just flip to another side... Apply with a damp MF applicator pad Might give it another shot... Oh, I meant the results of water beading after the product has cured... In the recent rainy weather, how did it hold up? Just applied it yesterday on my sister's car. Need to wait for the weekend to check |

QUOTE(V429 @ Nov 4 2019, 09:55 PM) Thanks. Come to realise that using cleaner wax / AIO once in awhile does a good job of cleaning random stubborn stains that regular washing can't clean off. wash + spray wax every weekAIO every 3 months + clay if necessary might be able to skip polish if maintain properly |

QUOTE(pin0245 @ Nov 5 2019, 08:28 AM) Thanks for your advice bro, i'll get the Soft 99 Meta Wax soon since it's the liquid wax over the TW Cleanser Spray Wax that i just finished not long ago. The original applicator sponge from S99 is thin & long = small coverage. I prefer the round ones from Meguiar's or Osren = larger coverage = faster to complete the job = time is gold By the way, is it ok to use the sponge that come together with the wax for application? or better use microfiber towel? |

QUOTE(zack.gap @ Nov 11 2019, 09:47 PM) Manage to get my hands on a set of IGL Quartz. Global headquarters is in Bukit Jelutong!! Any tips for a first time DIY Ceramic Coat? 0. Do not rush! take your own sweet time and go easy. ![]() 1. Split your paint correction + coating job into sections. 2. Do 1 or 2 sections per day. eg Driver's side day 1, Passenger's side day 2, Front engine end + bootlid Day 3, Roof Day 4. 3. Inspect your paint correction with IPA wipe/Dupont Prepsol/ Gyeon Prep/ Carpro Eraser to ensure you are coating a 95% defect free finish. 4. Wear nitrile gloves. 5. Buff with 2 MFs to ensure you have fully buff off your coating. Soak them after use immediately. You can use them for tyres/engine bay/dirty work. 6. Inspect highspot with move-able flat & soft lighting ( cheapest way will be DIY LED fluorescent light). 7. WAIT 24 hours to let the coating cure. If possible "sun bake" it. Resist the urge to spray water to check the hydrophobic action good luck! |

QUOTE(blurcase @ Nov 12 2019, 09:39 AM) I'm just wondering, would soaking the used MF cloths in soapy water help? I know cloths that has been used for coating buff-off mostly not safe for car paint use after that, just wondering if there are any way to revive them back to normal use. Depends on the coating brand.... some come out ok like 22ple |

QUOTE(zack.gap @ Nov 12 2019, 01:00 PM) Thanks for the comprehensive guide!!! Judging by what I read I think its possible to get a 2nd coat from the bottle. Would you recommend I let it cure for first coating for 24 hours before starting on 2nd coat? And would you recommend I put on the provided topper after that? it depends on how big is the car your car coating. I prefer single coat "system" because i coat at my house where i do not have the luxury of a closed garage. Between waiting period, dust, insect or taik cicak may be on the car surface IGL has their own spray topper, best to stick with a single manufacturer so that you can refer back to them if you face any problem/issue. But for me I go rojak and use whatever i fancy/like/want to finish. I use a topper after each wash as it is damn easy to use.... WOWO - wipe on wipe off.. kaotim |

QUOTE(clement5949 @ Nov 17 2019, 10:11 AM) Hi all, would like to ask for recommendation on car wax. As I am using the soft99 fusso coat 12 and i realize this wax seems like making more hard water stain on my car. Then every time after buff off, got the powder residue and this wax ain’t easily to wipe out. So looking for something better, which don’t produce powder residue and water can easily gone away. Normally Japanese waxes are powdery when buffing off.My car paint is dark crystal blue color You can try spray wax/sealant since its wipe on wipe off. |
