I have patches of stains everywhere on my car after didnt wash my car for 2 weeks. Normal car shampoo wont clean it off. I took it to my detailer and he cleans it with some liquid - wont tell me what it is though.

This is a one year old car. Always parked under basement. The stains seems to come from just normal everyday grime mixed with rain water. Never experience this before in other cars.
Any idea how to clean this myself? Or should I do some ceramic coating ? Oh btw the I applied Fusso Coat on it and wash with the cheap soft99 shampoo. Usually I wash every week and the stains wont appear but if I leave it too long then these stains will set in

update - so i took it to a detailer this morning. after doing the stain removal liquid thingy, stubborn stain still there.... in the end, detailer use this polish to remove it.

Using acid car shampoo for waterspot monthly is a bit extreme, also you dont mean those black lines right? it's the rain spot marks, right?

I'd say prevention is better than cure : I'd recommend using a decent spray sealant to protect & prevent stubborn waterspots rather than using acid car shampoo monthly.

Thing is nearby got condo in construction, dust combine with morning dew anyhow also will have beads form into waterspot.

Also need to reactivate my coating, so might as well lol. See how it goes , if less rain maybe jz 2 month once. These 2 are coating safe also, jz checking are there any similar option out there

Maybe try spraying away the morning dew before moving the car?

I see. In the market currently these are the only 2 acidic car shampoo.

There is another option which is to use the common "Watermark Remover" product out there, it's much more affordable but it has it's risks as they are usually quite strong acid, you need to know what you're doing with it.

I still do strongly recommend aapply spray sealant on your coated car afterwards, it does help reduce stubborn waterspots and stains.

I tend to use more osren products so I'll recommend their paintwork coat / Hydro Ceramic Shield, but similar products from any reputable brands should work fine as well.

regarding using 'watermark remover' products on coated car, you can refer to this Youtube video, hope this helps.

Sorry to bump a reply from so long ago. I believe what you had is road grime/dirt bonded to your paint/sealant, unfortunately it’s very obvious on light coloured cars, not restricted to white cars only.

From your photo looked like there were some high and low spots of the Fusso coat since it does not appear exactly like normal watermarks etching. I had similar issue before with some wax as well, got most of it out by using a clay bar. Removing it by polishing works too, but may not be the best method as one should always start with least aggressive method. Some may argue must polish after claying since that install swirls and marring too, depends on the assessment of the detailer, ymmv.

There are quite a few “ceramic” sealants or sprays that can last 1-2 months easily and have comparable water beading behaviour like fusso coat in the market now. Perhaps you can try, and can’t avoid routine wash for light coloured cars, it’s a lifestyle nod.gif

you are right. its just road grime that has caked up. i just wonder if other cars also have difficulty in cleaning them if left too long like maybe only 2 weeks? I can understand if left like a month or more but two weeks seems a short time. mine wont come out with just normal car wash but now I found that with some non-abrasive polishing liquid, it will come out. Thanks for your input

Our weather is quite harsh at times, raining for awhile and hot sun right after. Water spots get baked on immediately, also depending on where you use your car mostly, if industrial area then it’s worse. Happened to my car too as it’s almost outdoors 24/7, just different pattern due to the water behaviour from product used.

Also possible to be a fusso coat issue, not unheard of, perhaps try other sealants as suggested by other members above. Continue to wash periodically and clay it perhaps once a year/when necessary. It’s not easy to have a light coloured car in tip top shape all year round.

clay and polish is to prep the body, in english to clean the body of contamination and smoothness. Its like before applying lotion to your body you scrub and take a shower.

hence its an important process, else you will be coating with all the dirt on it.

Not ok.

The coating needs to bond with the paint and if there's a layer of contaminants in between the paint and the coating, it won't last.

Looking for a normal car wash shampoo for my car. Saw this from Soft99, seems quite cheap. Shall I go with the yellow one? Any disadvantages if compare with the blue one?

Or any other better alternatives at this price range?

Thanks
