Hi guys. I need you to intro me a CD-receiver (slot-type) as a replacement to the MyVI stock one. The CD-receiver shall be able to playback MP3 / CD / CDRW / FM and has clock display. As my main aim is to have MP3 playback capabilities, I'll stay on the stock speakers.

My budget is RM300-500. Most importantly, please recommend a good shop. My location is Cheras, KL. smile.gif

* Pls don't reco any MP3 FM transmitter becoz the stock system already has problem with FM reception (szz szz noise). So, I'm thinking of 1-shot system change. I'm lazy to send the system back for warranty again. sweat.gif

BTW, I've found something which seems like meet my requirement, though I'm not sure of the Clock functionality though (still researching):

skip the sony HUs, many users wont recommend u taking those doh.gif ...but I heard those new ones are better made compared to last time but not sure laa... yawn.gif

if u want slot ones like u said sony before, better go for those entry level pioneer (seeing from ur budget RM300-500) HUs like 2850, 2950, 3850, 4850 or maybe better still 5750... thumbup.gif biggrin.gif

Im not sure whether ur preference includes motorised front panel where the slot is hidden like 4850 and 5750 but if u want direct loading disk slot, then 2850, 2950 and 3850 shud be good for ur usage... cheers.gif

are u using myvi also smile.gif ? if yes, then firstly if u want to use after market HUs, then u have to take out the OEM standard stock CD player with the bracket or frame it comes with, change to another frame or bracket which will enable u to put after market HUs biggrin.gif thumbup.gif .....for those brackets, I have seen from RM60 till RM150 also got, depending at the quality and where its sold.... sweat.gif

for a normal HU which can play MP3/WMA discs along with the USB port capability for thumbdrive, can get almost any brands there is except those chaplang ones including brothers doh.gif yawn.gif ...I havent seen pioneers one just yet, but I think JVC and kenwood already have those...between the 2, go for JVC... flex.gif

TS, just before you want to upgrade your HU. You need to set aside a budget for the bracket. Brackets can go from cheapo type RM60 from Brothers till RM250 Original Daihatsu ones. After that, you need to think which type of HU? 2-Din or 1-Din?
If you want a 1-Din ones, then you need to buy a compartment to fit it below your unit. Forget bout those 1-Din brackets, it doesn't look good to me. Sorry to those who have it. It is just personal taste. smile.gif
