Regarding battery life, ultimately it really depends on one usage. Those benchmark varies to a different result between one another because of different test model they actually applies.
For example, s6 edge+ brightness is incomparable to s7 edge. 650 nits vs 850 nits. Obviously s7 edge is using much more power at maximum brightness. Hence if the reviewer use max brightness to compare both of them. S7 edge will definitely lose out or slightly edge out over the other. If they are compared apple to apple, all variables are of the same settings. I doubt s7 edge will lose compare to its predecessor. So yeah, ultimately it depends on the test model that they applies. |

Hey all im getting samsung device for first time, switching from IOS if you have to ask. Just curious, if I tripped the knox, am I able to claim warranty for faulty camera/motherboard or whatever physical components faulty?
Cause I intend to root right after I receive the device without extensive test on the hardware. Not to mention, I'm one of the pre-order for the first batch in which I will receive extra 1-year warranty. I prefer not to screw that. Or is it possible to return to knox 0x0 while completing full stock backup. I'm familiar to root and custom development with device such as sony & htc. Not samsung though. Nevertheless, I'm super duper excited for this upcoming thursday! am I alone excited guise? |

QUOTE(Vape On @ Mar 14 2016, 05:06 PM) Sorry but i dont see the reason to root this right away. This reason of rooting primarily is because I need to block ads & access to xposed (for my own customization). I can't see my self using the device without ads blocker really. Maybe aftwr 3 months when the roms are stable? But damn, I can't remember anything at all about xposed. Its almost close to 2 years i left android. QUOTE(K1d0 @ Mar 14 2016, 05:13 PM) Not sure about the warranty, but knox will not go back to 0x0 even going back to full stock, once its trip to 0x1 its forever 0x1 except someone found a way to s-off and edit it. Argh, I guess i'll wait for root without tripping knox then. Thank you so much for the info! There is rumours in xda that root without tripping knox might be available soon, as someone uploaded engineer binary s-boot in xda forum, so most likely just a matter of time until someone figure a way out. I'm gonna leave my kernel untouched though. |

QUOTE(pendekar7 @ Mar 14 2016, 05:25 PM) yep. my biggest concern is Samsung Pay. btw, AdGuard is the best solution i found so far for unrooted device. hi, glad to see you here. I used to use ur rom on Xperia Z2 back then on XDA. but on samsung there goin to be extra notification sticked there. Sony only got small key icon in statusbar which is better. the only flaw is blacklist/whitelist which quite ma fan. but good enough. Gonna try AdGuard once I have my hands on the sexy device although I don't like any notification as I like simplicity and clean look on my device. Just gonna bare with it till the root works without tripping knox or unless i can confirm despite tripped knox I am still able to claim warranty. |

I'm also one of the people who doesn't have tempered glass yet.
I had an iphone 6+ when it first came out, the curves of the edge make it difficult to get a tempered glass. Wasted tons of money cause of that. Tried many so-called "full coverage" but it doesn't cover the curve of the edges except imos. I think it will be the same case for s7 edge as well cause this is the first 3d glass they are using. Anyway, is anyone getting slickwraps/dbrand? I would like to join the bulk order |

QUOTE(uglyandrew @ Mar 15 2016, 12:41 PM) Motorola and Google’s Nexus range already offer glanceable monochromatic data that doesn’t consume 10-15% battery life during a day (roughly 1% per hour) and Samsung’s implementation is basic. You can’t see Android notifications which makes that data an extra click away (home button or wake/lock) and (unlike the Nexus range) you can’t get straight to the home screen from the fingerprint scanner without waking the phone up first. It’s clunky, but you can switch it off. Hi dupe, nice try.Fresh out the box the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge fly, but load them up with apps, browse complex web pages and you’ll quickly run into ‘jank’. Scrolling is the biggest offender, particularly browsing the web but even occasionally in basic navigation such as scrolling through Flipboard (Samsung’s default replacement to Google Now) or settings menus. The experience is far from crippling, but it shouldn’t exist at all and the core experience can’t match iOS on the iPhone 6S/6S Plus or stock Android on the Nexus 6P which runs on previous generation hardware. As such I feel Samsung phones could be powered by Intel Core i7 Extreme desktop CPU and 16GB of RAM and they’d still not run smoothly. Yes, the synthetic benchmarks are strong and these phones are very fast (particularly in games) but they aren’t smooth in day-to-day use and I’d swap the former for the latter all day long. It’s hugely frustrating and, even with their new heatpipes, they still get hot during intensive tasks. QUOTE(spoon2272 @ Mar 15 2016, 12:22 PM) Worth it if you ask me. From the battery size alone is enough to justify the upgrade. With other refinement which stated by others earlier is a plus. I just can't stand having a phone with poor battery life but then again thats just me. IMH, try not to ask people and let their thinking influence your decision. Do the thinking on your own, also know what you want and what you need. This post has been edited by ryanice8888: Mar 15 2016, 01:15 PM |

QUOTE(hirota @ Mar 15 2016, 02:03 PM) Can.Personally, if I were not able to receive the phone on thursday (17/3/2016). I will complain to samsung. They already mentioned that we can collect on 17-20. They have to keep their words. |
