I'm not that familiar with Malaysian group in Southern China but I think there should be M'sian Group in Guangzhou. You may want to search for their QQ Group or WeChat Group.

I do know Suzhou, Shanghai and Beijing have their own Malaysian groups and chamber of commerce as I had worked in these places.

There is a change of policy since 1st April this year where by all expat will be classified into 3 different categories making it more difficult to obtain a working permit now.

For "genuine expat" I believe it is still easy to obtain a working permit. And yea master chinese language with hsk 5 certificate can get you max 10 marks which simply put you under category B.

I'm not expat just ordinary worker.

Seriously I cannot imagine someone from Malaysia goes to China for a job which pays <RMB 5k each month. Really.

To work in China, I strongly recommend SZ CBD. It's very different from the other Chinese cities. And you get to shop in HK during weekends. Oh yeah!!!

How much pay would be worthwhile to work in China then? biggrin.gif

Other than Shenzhen, would you consider Shanghai or Beijing as these two cities are tier one cities?

For a person earning around rm 3k in Malaysia, I would not settle for anything less than 15k rmb if I am working in shanghai or Beijing

Is RMB15k sufficient to survive in Shanghai or Beijing taking into consideration of the expensive accommodation costs?

Rental in shanghai is about 4-5k rmb for a 1br apartment in pudong and about 6-8k nearer to city center in puxi. So 15k should be enough.

Didn't know rental so cheap in both side of Shanghai.

By the way, are you working in Shanghai now?
