Seriously I cannot imagine someone from Malaysia goes to China for a job which pays <RMB 5k each month. Really.

To work in China, I strongly recommend SZ CBD. It's very different from the other Chinese cities. And you get to shop in HK during weekends. Oh yeah!!!

I have not live and work in Shanghai or Beijing thus I couldn't compare really.
I really like Shenzhen anyway. It's young, clean, organized, and growing very fast!
What I said might not be true for the whole SZ but it sure is for SZ CBD.

Personal opinion, monetary-wise, it's only worthwhile to go work overseas if you get to keep at least double what you get locally.
Triple or more sure better la.
But if you are aiming for experience and exposure, then it's your choice... Just make sure you ain't short-changed.
