this one sea water coz it got coral reef...

Costs and maintenance depends on Sea water or Fresh water type....after that it will determine the type of fishes and plants

Don't mix predator and non-predator fish in same tank....all kena makan

Guppy fish is nice especially the tails are like butterfly

the acquarium model in picture...is all in one suitable for starter newcomers like TS...everything is included, pump, filter, light. just need to buy the fish, plants, baja/pebbles for ground layer

try to avoid mini aquariums as the maintenance cost/time really adds in the long run
also it can be somewhat noisy with the motor running (water filter/bubble/etc)
having said that it is really cool to have one tho laugh.gif

Temp fluctuation in the bedroom will kill the fish, whether freshwater, brackish or saltwater
Unless you're willing to compensate with either with a chiller, or leaving your air-cond on for the next 24/7/365.
Even so, that nano-sized tank won't do. Water body is too small and is too susceptible to sharp changes in temperature and water parameter.
Else..forget it. Unless you have a certain fetish of watching a healthy fish slowly poisoning itself with its own piss and crap and dying slowly for the next few weeks.

used to have 1. its best to make a landscape aquarium if want to put in bedroom. n just put a few tiny fishes ( forgot its name ).

if u put normal aquarium in bedroom, after a few weeks ur bedroom will become smelly.

the one is the picture is a cold seawater aquarium.. very costly and difficult to maintain. it probably need a chiller (aircond for aquarium) and turns on 24/7.

I always tell my kids

Buying is easy, but taking care of it takes extra effort..

Its your responsibility if the pet dies due to negligence.

And so they bought a few small plastic tank for bettas

And seriously, probably regretted every week need to clean it and taking care of it. All died old and it was a sad thing. But they did their best maintaining it.

Feng Shui will say it's bad luck.

But logic says it's bad for your health to put an aquarium in the bedroom.

Quite a lot of effort to maintain, and small aquariums can be harder due to the lack of space to manoeuvre.

Plants will need trimming, water will need some changing/refilling, CO2 levels need to be maintained, etc.

But do it if you enjoy it. smile.gif

I know this is necro tered
but such a small water body, the fluctuation of water parameter especially temperature will be crazy.
Maintenance and temp control will be insane and expensive if your don't plan to have your livestock die prematurely.

the smaller the tank, the more difficult it is to keep alive. less water volume = larger fluctuation in ph, temp and water quality. i had a 30 gallon tank once. it wasnt small but i found my fish tend to die more often than bigger aquariums. to keep small aquarium, your choice of fish and plants species will be limited to those that are resilient - which usually means they wont be very beautiful.

NEVER use a small aquarium like that for salt water fish, corals etc.

Beginner always start with fresh water fish

I recommend Fluval Chi (5 gallon) with minimal decoration, or Fluval Spec (5 gallon and with LED)
If you want bigger Fluval Flex (9gallon and 15 gallon).
You might need to put some fine mesh for the water intake to the filters or sponges for the outlets if you want to keep delicate or small fishers.
All can find in Malaysia

Anything smaller like 1 gallon tank, you will have a hard time cleaning it cos it gets dirty very easily and even if you use big filters, the water is not good for the fish. You still need to replace water.

Fishes for beginners are usually Guppy, Platy, Gourami, Shrimps, Corycats.
Betta is also nice to get, but its anti sosial fish. Can get very beautiful Bettas in facebook when most breeders sell online.
