having problem with my portable hard drive.


i cant save file,transfer file,or even delete the file in the portable.
when i check at the portable info it change to read-file only.
how to change it?
coz i don't set it as read-file only.
but when i use it on a pc.its just normal,can do everything
when i use it on mac.
its stuck.
i cant even save a file in the portable.
or even to copy the file from the portable.
the only thing i can do is just read the file.

how to solve this problem?

go to the HDD,press CTRL and click your mouse and go to Get Info
Under permission,tick all

yes i know bout the go to hdd+ctrl get info. but the thing is i cant change the permisson.
cant do anything at all. just read file

friend, your problem is this:

Mac OS X does not support NTFS at the moment. If you want to share a drive with Windows & Mac, format it in FAT32.

can format using mac? how?

my guess is that ur HDD is more than 32GB.......
u can only format it in FAT32 if your hard disc is 32GB or less...

what i did on my 80GB portable is i partitioned it into 3 equal partitions....then format 2 of the partitions in FAT32 and the other one in NTFS for windows use.....

if you want to format entire portable hardisk,
why dont u use Disk Utilitiy in the Mac OS X.
erase and format it using MS-DOS File system(if u want both OSes can read n write)
