Hard to find DDR3 based Skylake mobo now due to rapid phase out.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1284
Asus H170M-E (D3) - RM 329

Total: RM 1613 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Or do a complete swap to DDR4 platform by going i5.

I just got my ddr3 2 weeks ago when I upgraded to 16gb from 8gb. Maybe I should just wait until price drops? Do you know when exactly?

You mean price drop for the CPU and mobo? If yes then don't expect to have any major price drop, even when next gen CPU is coming soon/released here, last gen i7 4790 is still retailing at the same price as the current gen i7 6700.

Please expect minor price changes (within RM 50+/-) due to unstable RM currency lately.

Ok thanks, in that case - I'll just buy each component each month until I get it all.

Then I can increase budget abit.

ASUS Z170I GAMING
CORE I7 6700K
NEPTON 140XL

The mobo picked is a DDR4 based mITX mobo so you will need new DDR4 RAM as well.

And make sure the liquid cooler can be fitted in your case (since you picked mITX mobo so I assume you know the situation ya  biggrin.gif ).

yeah. can you quote me a suitable one then? with DDR4 16gb. No need super power one just the one that bang for bucks and good performance and reliability.

200R is an ATX case, I have no idea why you picked a mITX mobo initially  biggrin.gif

Asus Z170 Pro Gaming - RM 735
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 3000MHz RAM - RM 385

Total: RM 2581 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Yes, either air or liquid cooler.

If willing to take the risk of liquid leak (low chance though), you can consider going for liquid cooler (for aesthetic and clean nice looking purpose), if want to play safe, a decent RM 300+ air CPU cooler will do the job fine as well.

Your case can only fit selected 240mm radiator on top, mod is needed for those unsupported radiators like Corsair Hydro H100i.

Max clearance for CPU air cooler is 165mm, you need to ensure the height of the air cooler if you are going for air cooling path.

Some example of CPU coolers that can fit in 200R:

Cryorig H5 Ultimate, Noctua NH-D14, CM Hyper 212X (air cooler)

Corsair Hydro H80i V2, NZXT Kraken X31 (liquid cooler)

This is very helpful. Thanks for your help. If I need to do the actual installation and purchase I can just walk-in to the shop?
