Ladies and Gents
My ageing Acer Veriton (small footprint desktop) is beginning to give me BSODs and I have to be prepared to break my piggy bank for a new rig.
I'd like a recommendation for under 2K if possible for a new rig to replace it. I use my machine for work (Acad, Office) and some data processing using proprietary software which may be graphics intensive. No games.
Any chance that this can be a small footprint would be great because I don't have a lot of desk space and I prefer to not put it on the floor.
And yes I will be using my existing monitors. I just need the rig. Note that my monitors use VGA and DVI connectors (old versions).
Thanks and regards

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Apr 30 2016, 06:29 PM) Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 745 ASRock H110M-ITX - RM 315 Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 133 WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215 FSP Hexa+ 400W - RM 145 CM Elite 110 - RM 158 Total: RM 1711 (ETech price inclusive of GST) Well I believe that you don't really need a dedicated GPU, integrated (HD 530) should be fine for your usage, if you really need one, you can downgrade the i5 to i3 and then add in a GTX750Ti (if you need CUDA). You can add a 120GB SSD if you need it. Thanks for the quote Terence. Much appreciated. FYI I discovered that the RAM units provided by the supplier were not original hardware but I'm amazed that it lasted that long (5 years). Perhaps it's a contributing factor to the BSODs. In the future I will have to double check the hardware on all branded units to ensure that I'm not being cheated. Meantime I'm still diving in to figure out the actual cause of BSODs before I give up on the unit altogether. Regards
