Not much, DDR4 is few frame rates ahead only, but considering the price of DDR3 and DDR4, DDR4 is more worth to invest.
I doubt anyone will feel the difference for gaming.

One thing to note is that DDR4 - 2133Mhz vs 3000Mhz, there is a difference in processing speed.

I've benchmarked some Skylake processor and noticed that it processes faster when the RAM is set to higher speed, and it's quite a lot of difference when you are doing stuff like rendering videos.

You might be a little bit too ambitious on your available budget sweat.gif

Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 773
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 289
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 148
Zotac GTX970 4GB GDDR5 Reference - RM 1397
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 188
Bifenix Nova - RM 149
BenQ GW2270 - RM 429

Total: RM 3588 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

R9 390 is slightly better but your budget cannot fit it, even if you top up a little bit for it, you still need to change to a more decent PSU due to its higher power consumption status, which requires even more top up.

1080p 120/144Hz monitor is > 1.1k, prepare more money if you want to jump ship to it, same goes to 1440p which is even more expensive than 1080p 120/144Hz.

One problem with this build is the Core i5-6400.

Unlike the 4th generation Core i5 where even the 4460 has a base clock of some 3.2Ghz, the i5-6400 has a base clock of only 2.7Ghz

Even the lowly Core i3-6100 has a base clock of 3.7Ghz so in that sense I'd rather put my money on the Core i3-6100 than the Core i5-6400.

Nope, and that reminds me I haven't updated it for a while.

The setup on lowyat.net forums are better IMO, more detailed. biggrin.gif Mine is general, just to give an idea.

1) According to the box of the Gigabyte 1070 Gaming Edition, the minimum requirement of power is 500watts. If I get 620W with bronze, I might be just able to get 490watts with just power up the card. He recommended around 850watt if I want to prevent any issue such as system rebooting due to lack of power. Is it correct?
Totally wrong.

Most people don't even know what they're talking about when it comes to power draw of a system.

Read carefully http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-p...spx?pid=5916#sp

Recommended PSU : 500W

RECOMMENDED and REQUIRED are 2 totally different words.

And do you know how much a system with GTX 1070 draws?

Try take a guess on how much my system with Core i7-5960X @ 4.5Ghz (50% overclock) with GTX 1070 running Furmark (draws more power than gaming) draws on peak.

The answer.......... 268W..... and that's just peak, and that's just wall draw.

Actual system draw is less than 250W. The graphics card is estimated to draw only about 134W.

RX 480 is packing with GTX980-like performance (estimated) while GTX1070 is packing the performance of Titan X (+ extra 10% faster), they are on different tiers.
Haha on the RX480 part. Too bad AMD tell me to keep quiet. Anyway I'll be doing live session this Wednesday 9PM for the RX480, because that's when the NDA lifted.

As for GTX 1070 can rival Titan X but loses out to OCed GTX 980 Ti like Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti Xtreme Edition.

As for PSU requirements, true power 600W PSU should be enough for RX 480 running on CF, please wait for official reviews in the coming days for official data and power draw from the wall to determine whether your current PSU is enough for this or not.

600W is super duper whatever mode than enough for RX480 CFX. You can even put 4 cards if you want and still a bit of room for processor. (depending on what processor)

btw here's my RX480. biggrin.gif https://www.facebook.com/goldfries.fanpage/...4389203/?type=3

It is overkill if you play at native resolution (1080p) at 60Hz, but you can always use DSR (2x, 3x, 4x etc) to render the games at higher resolution for better graphics quality so it won't be a complete waste/overkill.
*
Confirm not overkill. For AAA titles, you want as much framerates as you can so the framerate dip doesn't hurt your gaming experience.

Note that even if it's overkill today, it won't be in the near future.

New game titles are beginning to take a toll on older cards even on Full HD when details are set towards the maximum.

Refer to titles like GTA V, The Division, Ashes of the Singularity and Hitman, among many other titles. Rise of Tomb Raider for example. Benchmarks on those games at high detail settings don't reach 3 digit mark.
