Hi guys any recommendation on a DDR4 rig?
[Budget] No Specific Budget. Prefer as low as possible.
[Purpose] 24/7 Daily Usage for DDR4 DRAM testing (work)
Will be solely used for DDR4 testing so its the top priority. =) As far as I know, only skylake i7 and x99 chipset supports ddr4 ram. Correct me if im wrong.

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Mar 24 2016, 08:06 PM) New Intel Skylake (6th gen) CPU supports DDR4 RAM module. About your testing, what kind of test you would like to carry out? Overclocking it? If it is solely for real life daily task (browsing, basic workload etc.) then it is very hard to notice the difference between DDR4 and DDR3. Hardware DRAM testing. So will be disassembling the ram module for this purpose.

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Mar 24 2016, 10:21 PM) I see, I have no idea on disassembling the RAM module, but will recommend a rig based on DDR4 and your requirements. Since you only stated 24/7 daily usage and no gaming mentioned so basic i3 should be able to meet your requirement. Intel Core i3 6100 - RM 496 Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 289 Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 162 WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215 FSP Hexa+ 400W - RM 145 Bitfenix Nova - RM 149 Total: RM 1456 (ETech price inclusive of GST) Okay great! Looks good. Another thing to ask. If I buy a 1333mhz ram, will it work on this rig? I have to see if the proc and mobo support this speed right?

QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Mar 24 2016, 11:48 PM) DDR4 base clock is 2133MHz. 1333MHz is most likely a DDR3 RAM, which is the base clock for DDR3 RAM during Sandy Bridge (2nd gen) era. DDR3 RAM will work on Skylake system but you need to get a DDR3 based Skylake mobo for it. ok got it. Thank you very much.
