If its office i rather go pentium then i3, money can be put to an SSD which will have better gang for buck. you notice a better performance

Oh let me get this straight if a PSU has 2x cable 12V @ 18A each

May i suggest an cheaper alternative. Use last gen haswell chip and really tiny case.
Performance will be very similar you will not notice any major difference.

Save RM354 most of the savings come from a cheaper mobo and case.
Dont really need 550W PSU unless you plan to upgrade to a expensive and hoter CPU and GPU later eg i5 + gtx 970 if you do then this small case might not be suitable either.

Things to note this mobo dont have any internal mobo USB3 to case connection. only usb2

i recently got bought 3 PC from etech for my friend, 2 of them where basic office PC,
i suggested for last gen system as its cheaper socket 1150 mobo, they will most probably not need to upgrade cpu to i3/i5 in the near future, if in case they do it will probably be in 3-5 years time, by then socket 1151 mobo (current gen) will also be obsolete
we can find 2nd hand cpu haswell socket 1150 cpu for cheap in the next few years too.

I opted to get the slightly more expensive mobo
ASROCK H81M HDS RM220
as it has 3 display types, HDMI, DVI and d-sub. (for dual display)
also it has USB3 internal connection to case. If your case has front USB3 you can use it.
It does have 2x USB3 back connections already.

if you dont need the above feature the the normal
ASROCK H81M mobo only cost RM195 save RM25.
get the cheapest 4gb ddr3 from them, i opted the nicer looking one with heat sink

Use the money you already save from mobo/cpu and ram and get an SSD it will feel very fast, its worth it trust me.
And you dont really need 8gb ram
4gb ram + SSD page file is plenty.

i3 6100 is truely amazing for gaming on a budget, not much difference with i3 vs i5,
my guess is people buying a i3 will not pair a gtx 980 more like a gtx 950/960 at this rate the i3 will be similar in performance as i7 in terms of current gaming

the sites also shows there is not much difference in i5 6400 vs 6500 in gaming too.

people can alwasy upgrade to i5 later in few years when games become more multi threaded and dx 12.

Suggest your pay the extra RM80 and stay with BenQ GW2270 instead, its a VA pannel almost as good as ISP, they are both superior viewing compared to cheap TN panel. Just go to any PC store and you can easily tell the difference in colour and viewing angles between TN and VA/ISP
Also this BenQ model is the Eye-care Monitor, ie flicker free.
its slightly bigger 20.7" vs 22"

I using the 24" thin bezel version instead and loving it.

You mention you are just a basic user, you may choose to downgrade to cheaper last gen system, ie haswell CPU + H81 mobo.
The money you save will be more then enough to cover for the BenQ GW2270 monitor with RM10-20 extra left over to your pocket
you will not notice any difference in performance,

You may choose to downgrade to a smaller cheaper case
Armageddon T1X - RM85. the last i checked it was all out of stock few weeks ago.

with the savings in case and last gen system, you can get a better/larger VA monitor, with about extra RM40 in savings you can invest that and upgrade to a 8GB ram instead of 4gb, but probably not notice any difference if you are a light user.

if you plan to upgrade i assume you mean the CPU later on.
then haswell chip may not be suitable as its an end of line mobo. in 2-3 years time it may be hard to find a new haswell chip, but 2nd hand will be cheap 2-3 year old i5 are going around RM400 these days.

if you stay with skylake mobo, it will last to at least cannon lake 2017, but by then you still probably need to spend RM800 for an new i5.

for casual user an pentium chip is fast enough, i3 would be sufficient too. no need i5.
office/internet stuff better use pentium chip save money and buy a SSD. better performance then i3/i5 with normal HDD.

i suggest your friend to upgrade to ssd in future instead of upgrading the processor to i3/i5.
she will feel a world of difference.
just turn on task manager and monitor your usage, you will find your cpu is seldom on 100% all the time.
