Here's my desktop spec:

Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth 990fx r2.0
RAM: 8 gb
GPU: ASUS Nvidia GTX680
Processor: AMD FX4300 Quad core

I am planning to upgrade my processor, as for GPU i have to wait and see on the Polaris and Pascal in next few months.

Is FX8350 a good upgrade ? I am using my desktop mostly for gaming and occasional work related stuff (using microsoft office).

I did some googling and many recommend switching to i3 or i5, but I cannot afford that, as the motherboard was just recent purchase around end of 2014.

If making the switch to intel, is i5-6600k the one I go for gaming (genre: FPS and RTS) ? And any motherboard with a 1151 socket ?
