Sell your G3250 and HD5770 (mostly can sell for RM 250+/-), get a new i3 4160/4170 and GTX750Ti, add another 4GB RAM and 120GB SSD if possible.

[Purpose]
Mostly for gaming  & some photo editing. Doesn't need OC

[Hardwares that will be re-use]
x2 Dell U2414H

[Monitor resolution]
Probably using dual monitor (x2  - 1920*1080p), multi tasking cause I love reading. But probably upgrade with Microboard B340VXC 34" Ultrawide monitor by Sept / Oct

[Games & softwares that use frequently]
playing Blade & Soul (CN & NA), World Of Warships, NFS, simulator - playing all of them with high/ ultra graphic preset. Often use Photoshop and RAW processing software

[Personal preferences]
Small form factor rig / Mini ATX. Doesn't like bulky rig

[Location]
Sarawak

Thank you.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1274
Gigabyte H170N-WiFi - RM 516

Optional upgrade:
1. Aftermarket CPU air/liquid cooler
2. GTX1080 (upgrade)
3. Better or larger size SSD (M.2 PCIe SSD/512GB SSD)
4. Better casing

Hi Guys, need some advice on my build, below are the details:
PROCESSOR Intel Boxed Core I5-6500 FC-LGA14C 3.20 Ghz 6 M Processor Cache 4 LGA 1151
MOBO        MSI B150M Night Elf
RAM                (Brand TBC) 8Gb DDR4 2133mhz
SSD                Samsung 850 Evo 250GB
HDD                (Brand TBC) 1 Tb HDD
GPU                MSI GTX 1060
PSU                EVGA 500 B1 80+ BRONZE, 500W Continuous Power
PC CASE        Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB
Casing Fa          (Not sure how many needed and which brand to choose)

[Budget]
Shall be around RM 4.5K

[Purpose]
Mainly for gaming, but also will do some coding with this build.

[Monitor resolution]
1080p will satisfied me, BTW I'm building a new RIG with no old parts, so any advice on which monitor to buy?

[Games & softwares that use frequently]
Casual games(Dota, CS:GO), maybe some 3A title in the future
Android Studio, Visual Studio and etc.

[Personal preferences]
Anything will do if it works, I'm not too concern on the appearance of the RIG, but the temperature and performance is my priority. So prefer a setup with good airflow.

[Location]
Selangor or KL area
This is my first build so I kinda get lost, is there anything to improved? Btw i still haven't decide which brand of Ram to used, and will the 2133mhz and 2444mhz differ much in performance? Since this MOBO only support DDR4 2133mhz.

Thank You biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
*
EVGA PSU isn't available officially in Malaysia and Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB is not a PC case.

Skylake Non-OC build (non-Z170 mobo) only supports 2133MHz DDR4 based RAM speed so no point getting anything beyond 2133MHz, most of the RAM provide lifetime warranty and RAM is pretty durable, so any value RAM will do.

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 835
Gigabyte B150M-D3H (D4) - RM 379
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 147
MSI GTX1060 6GB GDDR5 Gaming X - RM 1499
Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD - RM 255
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 209
Superflower Leadex Silver 650W - RM 379
Tecware Alpha - RM 199
BenQ GW2470H - RM 536

hi, i have a i5-4440 and r9 290. i know besides GPU, nowadays AAA games also CPU intensive like gta 5. may i know if i don wanna change GPU, will my CPU bottleneck my gaming performance? if so, what should i change to? Thanks.
*
So you are keeping your R9 290 and i5 4440 and asking if the i5 will bottleneck the R9 290 right?

If yes, don't worry, only those CPU demanding games will have some issues, just lower down those CPU related settings like population density in GTA V, BF4 players limit etc and you will be fine.

If you really want to eliminate CPU bottleneck, you can go for either i7 4770/4790 or Xeon E3 1230 V3/1231 V3.

4770K/4790K is also ok if your mobo supports overclocking.

Thanks for suggestion. Was lurking some upgrade since I got some budget to spend.

I'm may switch rather to  Corsair Carbide Air 240 or Corsair Carbide Clear 400C. As for water cooling probably go for Corsair Hydro Series (H100i or H80i) v2 ; as long its fit inside.
As for GPU, as long its support dual monitor,  multitasking or high game setting, I'll just go for it.
*
Air 240 is a mATX case while 400C is a mid tower ATX so the mobo form factor will have to change accordingly (of course mITX will still fit in these cases but it could be just a waste since you aren't limited by the form factor anymore when going for bigger case).

Thanks Terence so much for the advice, I got my Rig and I'm really satisfied with it. But one question to ask you, Seasonic does not come with 8pin connector, so for my case I have to connect two 6pin connector from PSU and use the convertor to become 8 pin power for my Palit 1070 card. Is it possible to get use one connector instead of two?
*
Which Seasonic PSU?

If it is M12II EVO then it does come with modular 6/8 pin to 8 pin PCIe/CPU power cable, please check properly.

Hi,

I need some help choosing PC components to build.

Here are what components I've come up with:

Processor: INTEL CORE I5-6402P PROCESSOR (6M Cache, up to 3.40 GHz) - RM700
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-B150M-HD3 INTEL LGA1151 M-ATX MAINBOARD - RM348
Graphic: MSI GTX950 GAMING 2GB GDDR5 128 BIT - RM750
Memory: CORSAIR 16GB DDR4 2133MHZ DESKTOP RAM CMV16GX4M1A2133C15 - RM289
Storage: Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200RPM 64MB SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5 HDD - RM213

Monitor: SAMSUNG 24' FHD LED MONITOR VGA-HDMI S24F350FHE - RM585
Casing: ???

So what do u guys think of this build? Is it functional and worth building?
And I'm also not sure what casing would fit these bad boys. Can anyone suggest a cheap but good enough casing for this build?
And is there anything else missing for the build?

Current total price: RM3194 (price quoted from Techview)

Thanks

Yes mostly for gaming.

Currently I only play Dota 2 heavily and CS GO sometimes.
*
Alright, the GTX950 is overpriced, top up another RM 100 and you can get GTX960 already and yes I know some people might claim that GTX950 is already enough for Dota 2/CS:GO, but not at that price (RM 750), RM 600 - RM 650 is the range that is worth looking for if you are going for GTX950 (it's either Palit/Zotac).

And about the mobo, swap to B150M-D3H version for extra 2 RAM slots.

Individual price.

You may get some discount from the shopkeeper if you buy the whole set from them, or just ask for best price/discount if they don't quote you the price that you are looking for, they might be able to do something about it.

Hi guys.. just want to know if for gaming is it necessary to go for dual fan graphic card or single fan is enough?Coz the price seems not varies too much im confused oledi which to buy.
Just for normal gaming/streaming/browsing not OC.
*
If you are going for single fan model, you have to make sure the airflow is good in your case and hot air can can be exhausted from the case as fast as possible because the cooler efficiency on single fan is always worst than dual/triple fan model.

The real benefit of single fan card is it is cheaper and suitable for SFF (mITX) rig where clearance is always an issue.

If you are running a low end card then it doesn't matter much.

Appreciate your 2 cents thanks
*
Airflow largely depends on your ambient temperature and surrounding environment (wind movement), GTX950 runs fine on single fan version, it doesn't heat up quickly under full load but if you are worried about the temperature and heat issue, you can top up a bit for Palit StormX dual fan version.

Hi guys!
WTA, i'm planning to buy GTX 1060 next month, but I have a question. Currently I'm using i5 2500k 3.3GHz, will it bottleneck? If so, what is the best replacement for it? I usually use my PC for gaming such as Far Cry, Assassin Creed, FIFA and the upcoming Battlefield. Please help me. notworthy.gif
*
OC it to reduce bottleneck if it really happens.

Single player game is fine on 2nd gen i5, most of the problems only arises when the game involves many players or NPC which require heavy CPU computation and tracking.

Currently my monitor res. is 1600x900, and i'm not planning to upgrade it in the near future, will this affect my gaming experience too? plus i am a noob in oc'ing, so i don't think i will oc the cpu.
*
Lower resolution will always yield better frame rate but with less graphics details due to lesser amount of pixels available.

It will not affect your gaming experience if you aren't a picky person, i5 2500 + GTX1060 can easily drive the 900p resolution.

QUOTE(r47z @ Jul 26 2016, 11:02 AM)
I just got my ddr3 2 weeks ago when I upgraded to 16gb from 8gb. Maybe I should just wait until price drops? Do you know when exactly?
*
You mean price drop for the CPU and mobo? If yes then don't expect to have any major price drop, even when next gen CPU is coming soon/released here, last gen i7 4790 is still retailing at the same price as the current gen i7 6700.

Please expect minor price changes (within RM 50+/-) due to unstable RM currency lately.

The mobo picked is a DDR4 based mITX mobo so you will need new DDR4 RAM as well.

And make sure the liquid cooler can be fitted in your case (since you picked mITX mobo so I assume you know the situation ya biggrin.gif ).
