whats the most affordable freesync and gsync monitor out there? for 1080p

is it even worth it ?
*
FreeSync (only works with compatible AMD GPU):

ViewSonic VX2457-mhd 24" 1080p 60Hz TN - RM 699
AOC G2460VQ6 24" 1080p 60Hz TN - RM 799
AOC G2778VQ 27" 1080p 60Hz TN - RM 989
AOC G2460PF 24" 1080p 144Hz TN - RM 1139

GSync (only works with compatible Nvidia GPU):

Acer Predator XB241H 24" 1080p 144Hz (support OC up to 180Hz) TN - RM 1899

The variable frame rate monitor is worth it but you have to pay extra $100 to Nvidia for their GSync module while FreeSync doesn't have to, that's why FreeSync monitor is much cheaper than GSync monitor.

Edit: Added RRP.

The AOC 144 Hz Freesync around RM 1,170. Acer Predator 144 Hz G-Sync Rm 1,799 - RM 1,899. RM 600 to RM 700 goes to Nvidia?

Added the price in my previous post.

Usually mobile processor will release first, desktop processor will follow later, this is the traditional Intel processor release roadmap, so please expect desktop processor to have a Q4 release or early Q1 2017 release if it gets delayed.

The performance improvement is small from generation to generation (< 15% in average). If you ask me if it is worth to wait, well I would say if you aren't rushing to get the rig and can wait till late Q4 2016, then just play the waiting games, if cannot wait then just get the Skylake which is more than enough for daily task/gaming nowadays.

I suggest you to get new CPU + mobo + RAM (DDR4) + GPU with your 2k budget and reuse the rest of the components, this yields a better price/performance ratio than getting a new prebuilt OEM PC.

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 835
Gigabyte H170-HD3 - RM 446
Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 250
Zotac GTX750Ti 2GB GDDR5 Single Fan - RM 470

Total: RM 2011 (ETech price inclusive of GST)
*
There seems to be shortage of stock on the Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133Mhz ValueSelect RAM.

Do you have any opinion on the Kingston Value RAM 16GB DDR4 2133Mhz KVR21N15D8/16?

I am thinking of using the Gigabyte H170-D3HP which has USB3.1 type C.

Will it matters if I use 1 piece of 16GB or 2 pieces of 16GB. Any stability issues with 2 pieces?
Any performance hits if just use a single piece?

Yes, Kingston Value RAM will work as well, same goes to Adata/GSKill/Crucial Value RAM etc.

1 pc of 16GB = 1 x 16GB = 16GB

2 pcs of 16GB = 2 x 16GB = 32 GB

If you mean 2 x 8GB = 16GB, then the RAM will run on dual channel mode (optimum setup) which will be slightly faster than 1 x 16GB, but it is very hard to notice the difference in real life usage unless you benchmark it.

Well everyone here starts from zero initially, if you have extra budget and keen to learn, go ahead, there must be a start, if not we never learn new things  biggrin.gif
Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1284
Gigabyte H170-HD3 (D4) - RM 446
Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 250
Seasonic M12II EVO 620W - RM 363
Tecware Alpha - RM 199

Total: RM 2542 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

After a change in mind i might want a overclockable build instead because i will be using it for long without upgrading for few years. Apart from changing the proc to 6700k and mobo to Z170, mayb a hydro cooler anything else to add?

For 1080p, no, we have limited choices in Malaysia.

Get a faster RAM for the build too, Skylake CPU does show some significant performance boosts when paired with high speed RAM.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1246
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming - RM 699
Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 3200MHz RAM - RM 460
Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD - RM 255
Corsair Hydro H100i V2 - RM 508
Seasonic M12II EVO 620W - RM 363
Tecware Alpha - RM 199

CPU cooler can either be air or liquid cooler, high end liquid cooler will have better heat dissipation but it is more expensive and carry the risk of liquid leak which may damage other components if it really happens. Air cooler on the other hand is more safe in this case but the size could be an issue to the case (need to check clearance) and doesn't contribute to aesthetic purpose.

If you hate LED, change the RAM to Vengeance LPX series, it is slightly cheaper (can save roughly RM 50+/-).

Case can be upgraded to a more modern/good looking/more features one if you need it for aesthetic purpose/long lasting etc.

It is an entry level aftermarket cooler, it performs slightly better than stock cooler and suitable for non-OC build, if your ambient temperature is high (~30C), then I suggest you to get a better one like CM Hyper 212X.
