This is the first time this is happening to me. The update went from "customs inspection" directly to "out for delivery".
![]() The parcel value is 11,000 yen plus about 6,000 yen shipping. Figure inside can be interpreted as NSFW. Am I in trouble? EDIT: Goddammit. ![]() This post has been edited by dis0rd3h: May 19 2016, 03:15 PM |

QUOTE(Exiled_Gundam @ May 19 2016, 03:22 PM) From Yahoo auction forwarded by Tenso. It's this figure: http://myfigurecollection.net/item/4358.I called Pos Malaysia and they confirmed my suspicion about it being seized because of "prohibited item". Should I call customs to argue my case, or just let it go? |

QUOTE(Exiled_Gundam @ May 19 2016, 03:42 PM) Hmm that one not gonna pass (my case last time was much tamer, but still kena nonetheless). Worst if you go argue, there's possibility to get fined also. What did Tenso put on declaration sheet anyway? The figure's original price (without box) is actually 22,000 yen(!), I declared it 11,000 yen through Tenso and put "personal effects". I guess the box is big because the seller used a big box with healthy amount of wrapping to protect the figure, hence 6,000 yen. BTW, computer-generated.p/s then again I'm a Muslim and the staff there were all Muslim as well, so the prejudice quite high. If you're a non-Muslim might has very slight change. p/s 2: Tenso usually handwritten the declaration sheet or computer-printed them? 6k yen shipment the box must be very big I'm not disclosing my racial profile, but then wouldn't it be better to not go at all to avoid any unwanted confrontation with those plebs? Should I at least call customs first? QUOTE(MeToo @ May 19 2016, 03:46 PM) Usually if "Prohibited" items they will ask u go there and ask u to furnish the proper documentation for the release of the items. You will NOT be able to have proper docs. Hence... only way is to "negotiate" with them. Can I assume that if I take no action, customs will send the item back to seller? However, if the items cost is LOW, then they wont nego with u, and since u no proper docs, they are suppose to return/reject the package. Theoractically this will mean being sent back to the seller. However, my last case I filled in the form to have the item sent back to seller, I later found out Customs did not do so, they kept the item and 3 months later sent me another letter to ask me go see them cause item detained.... I lazy liao.. ignore the letter... I assume they took that as "no claimant" and release the item to their own care... |

QUOTE(Exiled_Gundam @ May 19 2016, 03:52 PM) Hmm if the item was put under Prohibited (pornographic stuff for example) category, Kastam will not send them back to seller and will just dispose them after 30 days. Your case I think the item is not under the category; most probably either need to pay tax or obtain approval from SIRIM etc. If failed to, they should send back to seller if the declaration sheet says "return back to sender if not deliverable" which I think in your case your seller most probably didn't choose that option. QUOTE(MeToo @ May 19 2016, 03:54 PM) Nope... if u ignore, they will declare as no claimant after a period of time, then its theirs to do as they like. But from my experience even if u go and take the option of getting it sent back to seller, the customs will NOT do it despite promising to do so. QUOTE(Exiled_Gundam @ May 19 2016, 03:56 PM) Aiyah Can try call them first and ask, but for your case, most probably will be disposed off QUOTE(MeToo @ May 19 2016, 03:58 PM) Bro they wont dispose de. So um, :I shipped in something thats.... illegal... they ask me go... I was worried they tangkap me leh... but they ask me to get approval form PDRM for the importation.. so talk talk.. they say send back to sell.. never did. THey kept it. 1. Should I call customs and try to persuade through the phone that it shouldn't be considered illegal? 2. Should I go to customs to argue my case? 3. Should I just let it go? EDIT: Perhaps worth mentioning is that up until this parcel, I used to send my parcels to my university as per kurogane's advice. This time, because my university's mail guy started to suspect me, I had no choice but change the delivery address to my home. This post has been edited by dis0rd3h: May 19 2016, 04:22 PM |

QUOTE(Exiled_Gundam @ May 19 2016, 04:27 PM) 1. Definitely won't work Hm.Best option is 3, but if you can think of very strong argument then can do 2. In my case last time want undertable also cannot since when the officer opened the box for appeal, almost all of the female officers nearby come in and see as well (apparently my parcel made a huge commotion at the Kastam there). How much should I expect if I'm going the undertable route? |

QUOTE(Exiled_Gundam @ May 19 2016, 04:43 PM) Giving the nature of the figure, close to 0. In my case last time for this figure: http://myfigurecollection.net/item/331694 I even brought my 1/3 doll and gave argument that the figure is similar in the sense you bought the clothes later, but in the end didn't go through (though I actually might win if I brought a female non-muslim to argue for me that time). Your figure much more risque than mine. After many consideration, I think I'll let it go, because all in all it *is* pornographic in nature. Even if I did go I don't think I can make a convincing case, and I don't want the people there to know my face and "blacklist" me. Better to keep my identity relatively unknown.Though if you want to try, consider bringing female friend with you to help argue. Goddammit that's RM1,000 down the gutter. |

Hmm. Can I assume that no one here has ever successfully convinced the customs officer to let go of your seized parcel, with duit kopi or not?

QUOTE(EXkurogane @ May 19 2016, 10:09 PM) I have friends whom have managed that, though they are not really members here on lowyat. Even some cases involved dollfies, especially those who important nude bodies to customize on their own. But, in general, confiscated figures are pretty rare, i havent heard of many incidences. There was a period last year where confiscation/deportation increased suddenly thx to Harian Metroll reporting on "Patung Berahi". Even figures completely safe, and wearing swimwear, were not allowed, just because they showed a bit more skin and cleavages. But that was just a temporary knee-jerk reaction, to tell the public the customs are doing their jobs. After a short period Im importing nude figures again with ease. *sigh* I guess I should've been prepared for it. But man, even if I couldn't get the figure, I sure could use the RM1,000. Won't anyone buy my figures? |

Hold on - actually I just had a positive outlook. Is there any possibility that the seized parcel, after 1 month or so, be sent back Tenso?
Since I'm going to Japan and all, I'd just visit Tenso's warehouse and pick the figure up, can't I? |

QUOTE(DaSaru @ May 20 2016, 02:14 PM) i got my thing released, but it was not a figurine but semi-nude graphic novels. first they wanna confiscate, then wanna censor, but i keep hassling and they gave up. probably if figure is not too pornographic can make arguments it is art pieces? Could you tell me in detail how you managed to convince the officers?also really tax bracket is over 1k now? and only 6% gst instead of 30% like last time? |

QUOTE(DaSaru @ May 20 2016, 02:28 PM) In my case even though the comics has sex scenes with tits and ass you can't really see details. Also it was already sold in Kinokuniya so it doesn't make sense why mine is withheld. And one of the books is Watchmen and I argued that it was already made into a movie and shown in cinema and Astro. so maybe could work if your figure is sexy but not pornographic (castoff ok), got sold in local store, and has show in tv (one piece?) lol. Wouldn't work then. Have you seen the link I posted before? It's this one: http://myfigurecollection.net/item/4358 |

QUOTE(DaSaru @ May 20 2016, 02:34 PM) haha yes well was just explaining my case. probably won't work for you. but if mmg will kena rampas might as well hassle them for all it's worth. I'm thinking so too, but decided against it because I thought it'd give the ammunition in the future; maybe they'd know my face/address, blacklist my address, and flag ALL parcels that gets sent to that address. Now I'm hoping customs just decided my parcel takes up space, destroying it is too much hassle, and just send it back to Tenso, so that I can go pick up it whilst in Japan. Which raises another question: in order to have it sent back, do I just leave it to fate, or do I need to fill out special forms/obtain approval like what MeToo said? |

QUOTE(MeToo @ May 25 2016, 12:55 PM) Vocaloid? Is that from the BraveFrontier android game? Um. Can't tell if you're joking or not. They're from the extremely popular voice synth-turned-anime idol Vocaloid, as in Hatsune Miku? I'm sure you've seen her at one point.Anyway, nice stuff there, unfortunately not one of them have a weapon or a scrap of armor EDIT: Just for you, if you're looking for weapon girl, I'm willing to consider letting this one go if you can offer me a good price: http://myfigurecollection.net/item/144769. Probably a bit too NSFW for you though lol. This post has been edited by dis0rd3h: May 25 2016, 01:17 PM |

QUOTE(KY Kiske @ Jul 18 2016, 02:31 PM) So yours was under cat.1? You think they'll really dispose those confiscated stuffs? Hey, welcome to the club! Yeah, practically zero chance of getting it back.If they do not return back to sender then teruk lo. My money really gone just like that. I'd rather it get sent back to Japan so another can have it or something To echo the other posters, what figure did you purchase? Maybe you can make an appeal if it's not too revealing; in my case, it was blatantly pornographic so I had given up since the beginning. |
