I'm having some doubts over renting to foreigners, but finding local tenant is not easy nowadays. So, heres my question regarding this.

2 scenario :

1.) Directly rent house/room to foreigner (aka Bangla,Indon) w/ or w/o permit/passport, is it legal?

2.) Rent house to a property agent who going to rent the house to foreigner (aka Bangla,Indon) w/ or w/o permit/passport, with or without telling me, is it legal? If not, who will kena?

Thank you in advance for the helps.

1) is harboring illegal immigrants legal?

2) you can "evade" legal repercussions by letting it to an individual who is later allowed to sub-let under that tenancy agreement but bear in mind though, these individuals will not give 2 thoughts who the tenants are. at the end of the day, the property belongs to you and if these indiscriminate tenants decided to just turn your property upside down rendering it to almost 0 value. Well, basically you are finished. You may end up forking more just to rectify the damages that has been done.

Whatever it is, don't be lazy to earn money. It's your property then take good care in maintaining it, making sure every tenants are proper. Not only that, be considerate because the type of neighborhood your property is located will be determined by what people you rent it to. Investors nowadays like to rent it to foreigners because the rental is good but little that they know, there are decent family members who are living there.

Contrary to public opinion, a tenancy agreement may be sufficient to get you out of trouble.

Remember those news reporting immigrants using houses as drugged manufacturing plants? owners are not charged because they have the tenancy agreement but then again, you will have a lot of questions to answer.

don't rent to bangla, indon, nepalese or nikka.... it will drive out locals from your area and more of these people will come in causing the property price in your area to dip.
