hi ladies/girls,

idk is it alright to share it here but want to ask for opinion
my lower body (specifically my vaginal) has been itchy for sometimes
i thought just normal itchy but it last for more than a week, sometimes has some thick white discharge
why am i having such issue? if look for normal doctor for medication will it be alright?

It's called thrush. Orang Melayu kata 'keputihan'. It's a bacterial problem.

It's most likely yeast infection.

There are over the counter meds that you can get from pharmacy. Either oral or applied directly to your vagina (usually 1-time inserts more effective, or cream which is also used for other type of fungal infection).

But since this is your first time, you should get a gynae, considering you are already an adult. Get a gynae you are comfortable with and go for regular check ups and pap smears.

TS, my cousin did experienced this and look for gynae since they should understand better for woman illness lol
anyway hers was bacteria fungal infection + water cysts which lead her for late menstrual, she doesn't feel itchy

just afraid urs could be VYI (vaginal yeast infection) since u feel itchy while bacteria infection will not be itchy

gynae did give her cream to apply for external usage name himalayan (not promo but just fyi that u might want to buy to try it out)

ohh there is difference for both? thx for the name of the cream, im looking up for the cream or any medicine that available
came across quite few brands include the one u mention

I can't recall the brand but you can just go to any pharmacy and ask to get the one that is for vaginal yeast infection. I think it's something like Candida+ or something. Maybe got diff brand but similar meds inside also.

From what I was told, the inserts are usually the easiest and most efficient to use. Unless it is very bad already then go see gynae.

But again, because it's your first time, it might not be yeast, so better see a doctor to get yourself diagnosed properly.

Hi norasarah. Definitely go to a clinic first and do a pap smear before you get any medication as it depends on how serious the infection is.

Late reply, I suggest consulting your doctor, it sounds like Yeast Infection...and don't worry...all girls get yeast infection at some point of their life....it's a common thing..even I had it last year..the doctor gave me a tablet for it.

If you have a husband/sister, can ask them check physically.

My wife has them too from time to time. At first she also suspect infection or something, but in reality, its just some redness and skin tearing around the vagina lips. I will use those ezcema creme available on pharmacy and she will recover in 1-2days. I always advise her to stop using pad when all she had was white discharge. I think pads are not very breathable and when you wear them whole day, it will lead to crotch itch at times.

u r right, doc did say wear pad too much will cause such infection because the vagina can't "breathe"

Women should be seeing a gynecologist once annually from age 18 or when sexually active.
