Most ppl who compare them nevers compare them side by side.
But I dont really wanna comment on their comparison.
Aego does sound pretty good with vocals and highs. It also has a subwoofer which helps out with the lower note but its too small n not ported. Therefore its a bit underpowered but only when you turn the volume pass 50%.
S2000 on the other hand, sounded smooth no matter how u play it. The highs, vocals, and mid are excellent. However since its a 2.0, it means that it doesnt cover the lower extension (<80Hz) as good as Aego which has a sub. The thing is that, you can turn the bass knob all the way up to 100% and have all the bass you need. But that totally defeat the design of S2000 which was to create a less fatigue sounding system when used for long hours.
When you compare both, well, its very close. But its very easy to find out which is which. Aego is a bit harsh and sharp. S2000 on the other hand is more to the smooth sounding and the soundstage imaging is very good. While AegoM does better with bass, S2000 excels with midbass. No MM speaker can reach the level of midbass it has.
If you happen to have a chance to test S2000, please turn the volume knob all the way up. It sounds better when loud. Unlike other speakers, S2000 still sounds smooth even when playing loud. I had my S2000 volume at 6 o'clock and -5db in foobar. No distortion or whatsoever.
S2000 has a brother S2000V which is twice as affordable as S2000. I understand that the speakers are the same, it's just that the amp is built in into one of the speaker. What's your thought on quality difference in term of sound?
