Just bought a new edifier speaker to replace my fav R401.
After auditioning a couple of system (<200 range) I settled with e3100.. yeah its old model but, this is the speaker that cought me and impress me. Of coz C3 is nicer..and I nearly bought it!..If not for my little concise mind stopping me from spending more. For now the e3100 is in burning stage with pink and white noise. After it doen. Will couple it with belden rca cable and canare cable for satellite. A very good job for Edifier for their good and well built speaker system. |

Does anybody tried to mod Edifier speaker?
I have e3100...my planned to change the 4700uf capacitor either to same value diff brand or to 6800uf and add an 8pin socket and change the ne5532 to some opa2134 or other opamp... anybody done that?? currently using canare as cable for satellite speaker....does widen up the soundstage more...clearer clarity too..used custom made rca too. |

QUOTE(nismo91 @ Feb 27 2008, 04:29 PM) i think the front plastic (which has the 4 dots) can be pulled. yes ..I already pull the rubber grommet...but i'm more sure that the circle behind the sats can also be pulled. the black circle for the behind is similar to one of my speaker's cable slot. but not identical. here nothing..no screw what so ever im scratching my head already.....the satellite input behind there can be pull.but....i scared koyak later on..... |

QUOTE(nismo91 @ Feb 28 2008, 04:30 PM) nonono, i mean u open the whole plastic fascia, not the hole. yeah....you just confirmed my thought...........it happen on my sony speaker set, when it seems to be impossible to open the sub. this time E3100 must have the similar design... 99% i bet the fascia can be opened. but be careful lo... for mine, i use small (-) screwdriver to separate the wood box and the fascia. not sure how to do this "safely" without damaging the sats. logically speaking, how can Edifier put the driver if the fascia is not openable? they would not glue-construct the wood last minute i believe. thats is so hard to do it properly without scratching the speaker.. so damn tight! and might have a problem to install it back later... how is your sony speaker once u install back??? can fit properly? |
