Already audition the C3 Vs The S2.1 and already advise in earlier tread. I personally like the C3.

Anyway the local Magazine HWM in Nov 07 edition did a review on the C3 speakers. ( ......... Already late for my reply !!! ..................... Sleeping again... )

Given a 'GOLD" rating with 9/10 points. And even recommend it for Gaming beside for Music and movies. So my ears are OKay!!! ;-)

The C series are a separated design - i.e. separate amp and speakers ... just like high-end hi-fi systems. This has some advantages over the S2.1 series. Mainly better ventilation for the amp VRMs (translate to reduced failure), ability to swap whole amp unit out for repair/replacement and also gives you the flexibility to utilize a third-party amp if you get sick of the original amp.

The main disadvantage for the S series is that the amp circuit (including a toroidal transformer) is integrated into its sub-woofer housing. I'm not an expert speaker designer, but the components takes up some space inside the sub-woofer. The inside geometry is irregular and there will be definitely some sort of resonances pinging off the circuit boards. Don't know whether they compensated for this in the original design.

Lastly, I have an S2.1D and the digital input is broken ... I'm half suspecting that this is a common issue with the S2.1D. Anyone out here had faced similar problems?
Judging from a small patch of heat caused "stain" on the back plate, I'd say it runs hot. I'd already posted the issue up in the LYN Inter-Asia forum.

On a personal level, I'd put my money on the C-series .. even if it loses out a little to the S-series.

my first impression for this speaker is: "wow, so big. wooden, not very attractive" but when i saw the price and listen to it. this thing is really more than meet with eyes. the sound are so nice, like wat the sifu said, everything is solid.

for me the base is abit too much, haha. for music, i would onli turn the base to 0 or even -2. But more is better than none. juz tune what you like. i grabbed it on last sat once i saw before viewing any review from here or even magazine.

so happy that it's so highly rated. do you guys did any comparison with the MX5021, is it comparable? i think this thing is really worth for every cents.

For music, movie and gaming, i will recomend u S2.1M & C3. If budget around rm200 then M3300 & M3400.

Added on November 26, 2007, 3:43 pmThe development of S530D take almost 2 years, all components have undergone fine tunings from the sound study, electronics, environment, magnetic force, environmental, safety functions and testing. The aim is to produce delicate and monumental prototype for the satisfaction of customers. This is the first supers series audio set of Edifier, and also the first model to use more than 100W. Its design can be considered a gigantic and powerful system with good bass. It will lock in the die hard fan for the range of products.

Maintain classical feel in the box design, seeking elegance in the outer appearance. Fine workmanship with quality paint coating. The box size are specially design the meet the optimum output quality in accordance with sound study to reduce poor sound quality. The current 2.1 series have many shortcomings, but the S2.1 can provide the solutions to the current 2.1 model. The development took 2 years; the sound quality is close high quality 2.0 system

S2.1 emphasizes not only on sound quality but also on the feelings of customers. It is the first time digital remote is use, it is free from errors found in the traditional digital remote system, you will find fun using this. All control device are clearly identified, it provides various combination of music, sounds, bass, treble, centre, fade control, it even supports head phone device. The control device can be single handedly managed.

Hm..if u r compare e3300 and e3350..then e3350 is better than e3300 in term of sound quality as e3350 come with 2-Way crossover (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_crossover). Ya..the design is very unique and it won itself an award (http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/556978)...it is selling at RM 299.

It is 2 different systems, 5.1 and 2.1..it is depends on what you want it for...say if you have a 5.1 sound card on your computer or 5.1 enabled DVd player then you can consider R501 to enjoy the surround or if you wan it to mostly for music then i will suggest you the s2.1m.
