QUOTE(cablesguy @ Dec 24 2006, 10:53 PM) anyone know if can get 140mm fan in kl/lyp, specs similar to the aerocool silver lightning silent white led fans...doesnt hv to be led but pushes around 73cfm n 31dba...thx...forgot to add...along with the adaptor for 120mm to 140mm If you're planning on using an adaptor..then forget it. RPM = Pressure Having a big fan with low rpm (hence noise) is only useful to cover a bigger area that has low restriction. If funnelled through an adaptor.... this means there's more back pressure hence the real airflow will be significantly less. For example..hold a spinning fan and observe closely...the closer you move it to the surface of the table....the noisier it gets...and less air is blown.

QUOTE(cablesguy @ Dec 25 2006, 06:07 PM) nvr used an adaptor b4 so dont know how loud it add to the sound clutter, also not really sure if im on the right track, anyway the reason im thinking of the 140mm fans is bec its big enuf for the air to go around 2 hdd, n hopefully not as noisy as the 120mm fans with respectable cfm....maybe this pix can illustrate better, the black rectangle is suppose to represent a hdd... lol, the blue line is cold air n the red is heat. [attachmentid=170831] seems like any moderate cfm fans that i tried has the unbearable backpressure sound...so running out of ideas It'll work if you chop the 12cm fan position and enlarge it to fit the 14cm. Personally, I wouldn't. Reason being is that I'm EXTREMELY picky on fans. 14cm is not really a standard thing so there's not too many choices. ps: Fans marketed as mod items for the DIY market often have inflated specifications.

QUOTE(cablesguy @ Dec 26 2006, 01:44 AM) actually the pix is clear enuf thx ...anyway does it compress much if u screw it onto the casing, coz if it doesnt then there shud be gaps in between whihc i think shud further lessen the noise n also the vibration... I use more ghetto stuff.... those black spongy double sided tape sold in car accessories shop. Multi purpose as well... can use as fan dampeners... if one layer not thick enough...add more. Can also use to reduce HDD vibration. Best of all....they're cheap as dirt. $5 will get you a lifetime supply. oh... soli soli for the late reply. Tengah sniping in Berlin right now for the IFA show... Below's the patented sniper's el cheapo chopstix vga cooling solution suitable for all fan sizes and rpm. Disclaimer. This method does not apply to inverted ITX chassis. Step 1:Buy 2 packs of tar pau'ed Hai Lam Chicken Rice or just one pack if you can convince the the taukeh to give you 2 sets of chopsticks. Step 2:Cut each pair into equal lenghts Step 3:Kasi cucuk each of the 4 piece of the now dismembered chopsticks into the fan hole of your fan of choice. In this illustration we use the legendary vantec tornado. Temperature reduction is guaranteed to be significant. Step 4:Enjoy your chicken rice. QUOTE(Doom @ Dec 30 2007, 05:10 AM) hahah .. I have two Yate Loon with me now but haven't tried yet .. the only problem is the version that I got doesn't comes with speed sensor.... however it's half of the price of Scythe .... will try out and then only decide to try Scythe or not ... Yate Loons are like 1/6 the price of the Scythe S-Flex niah. Personally I think S-Flex is better but the YL's are great value at 7V .. also they don't last long before sounding "different"

QUOTE(rainingzero @ Dec 31 2007, 11:27 AM) at [H]ardForum, saw a lot of them using Yate Loon fans. is this fans available at malaysia?? reliable?? If want cheap and nice, it can't be beat at NT100 per pcs (around RM11). I used them exclusively before I got my S-flex's. The only other fans that I've played with that can match them are the S-flex and Panaflo's. Only downside is that they sound "different" after some time (this is for really really picky folks though) Bear in mind that this is for noise sensitive folks only... for the "airflow tarak cukup.. doesn't blow my hair high enuf" folks, then I suggest stick with the Deltas.

Depend on your definition of good lar.
If it's just POWAAAAAAAAA that you want, there's a lot of fast fans out there.
The tricky part is the right balance of powaaaa n noise.
