i think depends on mobo.
my old mobo got this function.. power self test.. when this funtion enabled.. to turn on the pc, need me to press power..then, reset.. if just power button, only the fan and all the light will ignite... except the mobo bios and os.. heheee old mobo.. still using it.. if u just want to test the fans and all.. why dont unplug the hdd.. |

QUOTE(lohwenli @ Jun 13 2007, 09:17 PM) Might be possible, I think adding a diode and a large capacitor parallel to the fan circuit would do the trick. Might be a good idea to use a resistor or transistor to regulate the current through the capacitor; helps to prevent excess inrush current, and allows the fan to spin linger though slower. http://www.evercool.com.tw/products/ecs-gt.htm[attachmentid=247089] I'm not sure how much capacitance is needed, but I'm sure it would be at least a few hundred or more likely a few thousand uF. pepenat je evercool design.. hehehe just buy one, safer... |
