not sure if they r more worth than others actually... other 140mm in the market is quite limited actually... brands like CM, Bitfenix, Xigmatex are the common ones u can find 140mm u will have to look further for other brands

Where to find fans that use 2pin socket? Or any fan that use 3pin socket can be used as well..

my gigabyte Odin PSU fan is dying, no more warranty, but still running strong except the fan.
*
IINM any fans may be used.. the 3rd pin is for speed detection

Well not too sure abt the gelid & enermax but the xigmatex is easier to find..comes in blue/red/black transparent blade but the LED is certainly white.. comes in 140mm flavors too wink.gif not all shops have them but u can pm moderno or yoongken wink.gif

Added on March 14, 2012, 9:48 pmoh btw not all of them are PWM... only the specific XAF1255 is PWM

So my question is what kind of CONNECTOR would i need?? what kind/type of cable connector to support the other 4 fans?

please advice thanks  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
if you only have the molex to 3pin, you may daisy chain all 4 fans and connect them to a single molex from your PSU... do note that all the fans are gonna run at full speed this way

fan controllers are another way where some models will enable you to power 4 - 6 fans at once off from a single molex and gives you the ability to control the speed of your fans... but these will set you back anywhere from RM60 to RM300 depending on the brand and model

if you could find the molex to multiple 3pin connector like this, u will have less of a headache arranging your wires tongue.gif
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

you could order them or DIY smile.gif depending on how the 3pins connect to the molex, the wires will run at different voltages (5v to 12v) which will let the fans run slower (5v & 7v) or at max speed (12v)

Hard to say actually unless one has tested all of them in our environment wink.gif cause most, if not all, fan reviews are not done on our shores actually so our local condition might crown the most unlikely as king tongue.gif

Cyntrixtech, can PM me the full details? kinda interested here but I already have AC F12 PWM & the Aerocool tongue.gif

Hi guys..currently im using cm tx3 n 2 90cm fan on my side panel..i bought that fan for rm20..i noticed that when i take off that rm20 cm fan,my casing sounds slower..n im planning to buy 2new 9cm silent fan..could u guys suggest me good n cheap fan?im using cm usp100 casing btw..
*
Slower?? u mean quieter right?? 90cm fans?? if u mean 9cm/90mm fans, they spin faster to generate the desirable CFM hence they tend to be louder

if u mean 90CFM fans (the Cooler Master R4) then they are the worst possible 120mm fans to mount on the side panel as they are spinning at 2k RPM and will definitely generate a hell-lot-of-noise

On a USP100 you have the option to mount 80mm/90mm/120mm fans... I'd recommend mounting 120mm fans and something Quiet like the Artic F12 or some slower fans as to reduce the vibration on the side panel of your USP100

Typo therr..act,what i meant was im using 2 90mm cooler master fans that i bought rm20 each..hehe..yah..quiter without that 2 fans..
Buy a slower fans?that means slower air flow?it doesnt affects the temp much rite?anyway..thanks for ur suggestion bro..
*
Well... slower fans doesn't really mean less airflow in your case.... here is why:

an 80mm fan spins at 1800RPM push about 21CFM of air
a 90mm fan at 1800RPM will push about 35CFM of air
and a 120mm fan at 1800RPM will generate close to 60CFM of air

*these are estimates only, don't ask me which fan are these tongue.gif

bigger fans needs smaller efforts to push larger quantities of air so spinning slower doesn't mean that they move less air, and but spinning slower, they generate less vibration which translate to quieter operation smile.gif

Seems to me like the Artic F12 is your choice then cause at that price you ruled out noctua, noiseblockers & darkwings already tongue.gif

how to look and compare for a good case fan? icon_question.gif
*
if its for intake & exhaust, I'll just pick the one with the best airflow (CFM)/noise (Sone, DB) ratio... and of course within budget thats specified

but take all fan specs with a grain of salt as some of them does not exactly perform as stated

Now these are quite rare... u sure they are F1255? or are they F1254?? cause the 4-pin type is hard to find

Guys which fan is better the CM Blademaster or the Artic cooling f12?
*
That depends on what do you intend to do with the fan, I'd recommend using the F12 all the way cause its quiet and the airflow is almost identical to the Blademaster wink.gif

Ok will get the F12. Another question, what is daisy chaining? I googled around and does not have much info on it but I guess is connecting those molex 3pin connectors? From the unboxing videos on youtube, the f12 does not seem to have a molex 3 pin connector. My stock cm fan on my elite 370 have though I never use them yet.
*
daisy chaining means that you connect multiple wires/sockets/converters/adaptors from a single power source... which includes and not limited to PSU, battery packs and even the wall socket tongue.gif

if you opt for the normal F12 you will need multiple 4pin molex to 3pin adaptor unless you can find something like this singlr 4pin molex to multiple 3pin adaptor
user posted image
which btw you could DIY wink.gif

another method is to get the F12 that features power sharing technology (PST) which will allow you to chain multiple F12PST on one single 3pin connector on the mobo...
http://www.arctic.ac/en/p/cooling/case-fan...pwm.html?c=2183
these are the 4pin PWM types and is very useful as most of us will have about 3x fan connectors on the mobo anyway
