myself and loon staying in penang....loon is from ipoh and me, eventhough my parents are there, Im a penang lang and studying and working here for sometime leadi ....lucky u I have been browsing ICE shops lately for my car.... I went to ipoh 2 weeks back, since was free there, I went to few ICE shops there but saw nothing interesting on ICE there.....generally other accessories there are cheaper than penang but if wanna talk about ICE stuffs, forget ipoh ler....

anyway, if u did some searching on ZTH or google, u would come across this LINK .....

also, u can try browsing autoworld malaysia's ICE forum, there some forummers there mostly from penang state...might get some ideas or help from there.....not wishing to promote other forum more than LYN....hehehe.....

since u are from mainland, first place I would probably suggest u to go is asacar auto accessories at tmn selasih, kulim ....they have a branch in sungai petani as well but I nvr been there yet....I heard their stuffs are priced quite reasonable for states like penang and kedah, even perak also....

yeah, try to avoid those brothers, on cost, cosplus if u wanna get any ICE stuffs for ur car .....better be going to normal ICE shops rather than these wholesalers.....hahaha...

Im not against their business but they are not just good in ICE IMHO .....for once there was a fren of mine from ipoh who came to penang to upgrade his ICE for his myvi and he just know shops like kedai abang, I recommended him to other shops rather than these shops....hahaha....donno he follow my advice or not....

if u from penang, u can probably look my thread as well ...might get some idea also ler....

I would probably mention what u told me before this over and over ......do a little bit of homework and u will learn things hahahaha....

I answered this question earlier, refer there please ...anyway, since u are from mainland side, suggest head to kulim first before going to island....hehehe...

can get good selection there as well....reasonablly priced compared to penang island... ....easy for u also in case got problem no need to cross the sea to fix ur ICE problems...

I can give simple directions, a bit hard to explain everything around here...

normally penang to kulim takes about 45-60 mins depending traffic on bridge and roads...

find ur way to kulim high tech park, that is by using BKE (butterworth-kulim expressway), once u get off from the toll there, take a left turning at the first exit road from the highway, on that road there is a traffic light on ur right hand side road that goes straight and turns to right, turn to right from there and go straight till u see a shell station on ur left.....stop there and ask for further direction ......thats wat I did at first time I went there....I can explain more but u might be confused already by now...

wat setup or brand are u thinking of looking into ? it would be better for u to listen and judge the speaker performance rather than asking for something that is recommended by someone ....recommendation will come handy to u interms of ur budget, branding and performance and suitabilty to music u listen, but still probably the most important thing will be whether ur ears like it or not ?

let us know wat probably u looking into...probably me or loon can advice ....by the way, dont have contact no tho but shop is open everyday till 8pm except on major public holidays....

if its RM400 for a component set, try for soundstream, BM boschmann or lightning audio bolt series (old models) ....or also can try other brands probably 2nd hand ones but better than those 3 above if u can get any deals around....

or worse, u can also try fake ones at lelong ...kekekeke...but definitely not recommended...kikikiki....

and for these all, dont have to go to kulim ler...can look in penang island itself....

yeah, about sound impact....hehehehe....not to say bad things about him but his shop is rather new ler ...not much an expert in ICE, atleast not yet laa ...I have been to his shop before when he did window tinting promotion, good pricing he gave me dat time ....his shop is at jones road nearby lancia auto car dealer at pulau tikus....

u are rite about this thread, but the thing with ppl is that they wont do any searching or reading first but instead keep on asking here and there...

I lost count how many times ppl asking the same question that has been answered numerously before ...thats where it would become a bit irritated, hope u understand that I dont mean taruh u....kekeke

nabelon, since u are from sungai dua USM area, try heading down to crystal sound beside makro (shophses same row with subaidah).... Im sure u can look for quite some sets there itself....

about acoustic edge, hahaha....I just got one word for u "expensive" .....no disrespect to the AE, but Im not sure hell why is everything there is dang mahal ...a fren of mine who bought a JL XR series component from golden for RM1.1K but AE is selling JL TR series component for RM1K++ ....TR series is entry level series while XR series which is almost high end level but price cant be around the same ler....

but the manager or boss there, the malay fella is quite cool and nice fella ....will give u a lot advice or information if u manage to show him some interest in sound engineering...hahaha...
