Maxis is really confusing me with their website.

Let's do a case study on my case.
I am planning to get a contract for MaxisONE plan 158 for 24 months.
The device I want is iPhone 6s Plus 128GB.
I am not opting for zerolution as it is not viable in my humble opinion.

After awhile, I realised there are 3 options without zerolution.

1. Maxis Main Page

In this link, if you select 24 months contract, iPhone 6s Plus 128GB, MaxisONE plan 158,
The device price is RM 3265.

2. Maxis Store Page

In this link, if you select iPhone 6s Plus 128GB, check Zerolution Monthly Payment RM 163 x 24 months (this option is only for eligible existing Maxis customers), MaxisONE plan 158, and select "No, thank you." on the Zerolution Upgrade Program (amounting to RM 43) at the bottom of the page,
The device price is RM 163 / month for 24 months.
RM 163 x 24 = RM 3912.

3. *Same link as option 2*

For the same selection in option 2, instead of checking Zerolution Monthly Payment RM 163 x 24 months, check Recommended Retail Price RM 4338.68, the rest stays the same,
The device price is RM 4338.68.

I actually spoke to the online Maxis chat support, what they told me is that the walk in price is cheaper than online store price to i quote "acknowledge customers who take the effort in walking-in our Maxis Centres".

If this is the case, then why is there a difference between option 2 and option 3 (both from Maxis Online Store).
Don't tell me it is to "acknowledge the loyalty of existing Maxis customers".

Besides, RM 4338.68 in option 3 is only RM 360.32 lower than retail price of RM 4669.
I mean, who wants to sign a RM 158 / month contract for 24 months just to save a little over RM 300 on device price?

All these just doesn't add up to me.

The Zerolution plan is targeted for people who want to upgrade to a new phone after 1 year. In order to do that you have to pay extra on top of the bill and also the phone. Thats what i understand la. And also i think not all people can fork out RM4k plus on the spot for a phone so maybe this plan might help. Got difference here and there but in any way we try to compare and find a good reason.....customer always lose. They pusing2 the plan and package until we have no choice.

By the way I just signed up for the Zerolution iphone plan. Dont want to think much about losing money or not because my 6 years old iphone 4 is already giving up on me. Hehehe.

I think option 3 does not have 24 months contract as you are buying at full price. You forgot GST!
