i say that is a gimmick that nobody needs.
1. camera grip = external battery. camera grip too awkward. making it too bulky.
external battery?
here, this is the elegant solution from samsung, wireless charging somemore.
2. audiophile DAP module?
dude, real audiophile get this as entry level. with its own battery.
because DAP chip consumes battery.
its a good idea, really. but audiophile doesnt want anything that is easy. because they can always get 'another' stuff.
or they can get something elegant like this.
3. replaceable battery?
yea. so how many battery did one get? this is not 2013 already.
Dude for the 2nd point is not Audiophile DAP module, its audiophile DAC module, I find it very useful to have a good DAC on a phone. Previous been lugging around 2 devices , my phone and a DAC/Amp module. Now since using LG V10, it is really really convenient. It can drive my Sony MDR-Z7 cans, I can play my DSD audio file . I spent closely to RM4k on my setup , but with LG v10 , I get somewhat close to that setup but I got better mobility. I bought the V10 for RM2499. It can drive many High End Headphones and high end IEM. 1. camera grip = external battery. camera grip too awkward. making it too bulky.

Another problem that i face when using external DAC, it connects to the phone usb, so no way for me to charge my phone while listening. So i'm draining phones battery and DAC battery.
Many phones can advertise good DAP/DAC feature, but knowing where to place the DAC /AMP chips in the phone is very crucial , and LG has done a very good job .
For an audiophile, I would buy v10 or G5 with the B&O module because you'll get a sound close to Sony's PHA-3 DAC but a better mobility and elegance.
The only thing gimmick about that is it advertise the 32 bit DAC. 24bit should be enough
