QUOTE(numerical @ Feb 23 2016, 08:49 PM) Lovely.Something I really need to ask, as you all know the S6 Edge/Edge Plus is so hard to pick up from a flat surface from the sides because of the curved edges and the flat back. But this time round, the back is curved, so you should be able to feel and grip the sides and pick it up easily from a flat surface, eg: table. How is it? |

QUOTE(-cmi- @ Feb 23 2016, 08:26 PM) That's not an exactly fair comparison because each camera has its own exposure metering. If using pro mode, S6 could get the exact same exposure as the picture shot by the S7. Just need slower shutter speed or higher ISO. (preferably slower SS) |

QUOTE(timetunes @ Feb 25 2016, 09:33 AM) gsmarena is a well-known samsung cheerleader. not surprised at this. How is that innovation when wide angle lenses have been around for donkey years already?current cameras are already good enough for facebook uploads, etc. prefer lg g5 with wide angle. now that is innovation. |

QUOTE(lolzcalvin @ Feb 25 2016, 09:33 AM) I've been looking at some benchmark tests on both Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820, and each websites have their own stories on which is better. So from your perspective, which processor is better Benchmarking is absolutely meaningless to test the smoothness and fluidity of a phone.I'd rather see practical tests such as app launch times, game loading speed, website page loading times, how fast you can launch the camera and snap a picture. If for gaming, show the gaming fps in comparison with other CPU/GPU. Can u get that just by looking at benchmark scores? Nope. |

QUOTE(timetunes @ Feb 25 2016, 10:28 AM) Why I think the LG G5 is a bigger deal than the Samsung Galaxy S7 The success of LG G5's modularity solely depends on the accessories and the companies producing them.Samsung and LG both made major announcements at Mobile World Congress this year. Both showed off their flagship smartphones vying for your attention and, of course, your hard earned cash. But between the two devices, I think the LG G5 is a bigger deal than the Galaxy S7, and here’s why. LG’s G5 showcases a seriously attractive alternative to current smartphone conventions. It is the most innovative product I’ve seen at this year’s Mobile World Congress. The G5 is, essentially, the pioneer in a new breed of smartphones — one that could very well change the way manufacturers make phones and change the expectations we, the consumers, have for smartphones. It blew my mind because of one simple reason: It is, in essence, a modular smartphone and it is because of this that I think the G5 has the edge over the Galaxy S7. I won’t deny that the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are absolutely fantastic smartphones but, in building the Galaxy S7, Samsung went down a familiar path. Samsung took a successful formula — the Galaxy S6 — and improved virtually every aspect of it by reusing old features from S5 and copying from Apple. As a result, you get a phone that’s immensely capable but one that does very little to change the game. LG, on the other hand, went all out with their brand new G5. They went with a completely redesigned form from the older G4, while at the same time, rewriting the smartphone playbook with its modular design. The modular smartphone, a concept introduced by Project Ara in 2013, is still some time away and while the actual vision of a smartphone that you build, customise and upgrade like a Lego set is far from the G5’s modular capabilities, this is a starting point. LG can only improve on this modular idea in future releases. While the LG G5 isn’t completely modular, thanks to its removable bottom panel, you can change the capabilities of the device. On launch day, LG showed two modules — a dedicated camera control module and a Hi-Fi DAC (Digital-to-Analog Controller) plus amp — which demonstrate some of the features you can add to your smartphone. These two modules merely skim the surface and with help from third-party developers, LG is opening the doors for more useful and practical add-ons in the future. And if this modular concept catches on, the possibilities are potentially limitless. Kudos to LG for taking the bold step, let’s hope this goes far. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « by soyacincau[/spoiler] This post has been edited by -kytz-: Feb 25 2016, 10:54 AM |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Feb 25 2016, 12:04 PM) Thanks for the link. Ayam impressed. Finally there's photos with exif intact. It seems like the camera is relying on the OIS, keeping down to 1/10 shutter speed to keep ISO low. None of the shots were above ISO250. edit: owait.. there's one on ISO1250 Btw, how did u download those images or check the EXIF |

QUOTE(edthrax @ Mar 2 2016, 10:22 AM) Really? I thought its a standard now for all high end phones. But CSR did introduce a new protocol called aptx HD. 24bit audio streamed wirelessly through Bluetooth. I think they have never had this feature before lol. Correct me if I'm wrong. But still, thats a crucial miss. I use a aptx headset for gym huhu. Why did samsung choose to omit this feature Wireless audio is so convenient for outdoors. I often use it going to and coming back from work, using the lrt. I currently use the Sony SBH52 and just hook it to my shirt. Wired earphones, connected to the phone, makes things messy. You always have to be careful of the wires constantly moving around and not getting entangled with things around you. My earphones are quit fragile so bending, pulling or twisting are a no no. Not to mention cable noise too. |

There goes my plan of having a transparent back as it will make the phone not resistant/water proof anymore

QUOTE(Radec @ Mar 4 2016, 08:55 AM) So how do we know if we are included in the first 1000 upon pre-ordering ? Will the preorder sign up closes after the 1000 has been hit ? In a way I think pre ordering online is much better than queuing up outside Samsung stores overnight I don't wanna shell out 300rm downpayment for not a guaranteed discount. If I won't be in the first 1000, then might as well go other places for their preorder bonus. :/ |

QUOTE(RedsInHell @ Mar 6 2016, 10:39 AM) yep, was thinking Sammy might bring regular s7 later. Screen size isn't the only difference. You can easily Google it. "note 5 vs s7 edge" but they might keep their words on the availability/Un such as the case with european note5. S pen aside, would u think this is clear upgrade on Note5? 5.5 vs 5.7 isnt that much diff anyway QUOTE(blacktubi @ Mar 6 2016, 10:57 AM) Full coverage curved tempered glass screen protector is available now. I don't think it is easy to apply. It's not transparent. It's a "coloured" tempered glass which I absolutely hate be used of the difference in colour and the printing they apply on it which is opaque (Samsung logo, capacitive buttons at the button, etc) |

QUOTE(RedsInHell @ Mar 6 2016, 10:28 AM) i tried s6 edge for a few weeks before, & just didn't like how it feel in my hand. Easy. Just compare a Note 5 curved back vs a S6 flat back.would s7 edge be diff due to curved back? any good review already on the net? is there any chance of 5.1" s7 to be sold here? European still haven't got their Note5 right.. |
