thanks for the feedback. at the moment, we have close to 100 workshops that are involved in varying degree of enthuthiasm, around the country on our website http://mytayar.com.

Unfortunately, most workshop owners are technical people who are not into the internet. As such, trying to convince them to be on the internet is very challenging. We will add more Workshops in the future.

Yeah I could imagine plus the amount of work they do is also taking up their time.

I think one way to convince them to provide time for it is by showing them the positive results from other shops who are actually active smile.gif

But very nice and unique idea I sure hope it grows to much more than tires/tyres rclxm9.gif

Gave up on the website long ago.
Can't really find anything on it. As good as hopeless...

It only works if you can put on some offers on it.
If not, better shut it down.

Honest Opinion.

Thanks for your opinion....

The guiding principle of http://mytayar.com is to provide consumers with alternative purchasing channel with open pricing to minimize the risk of consumers being cheated by dishonest workshops.

Consumers may browse the website at his/her convenience throughout the day (except when the website is down for maintenance). No pesky salesman forcing the user to buy anything. If he/she found the products that meet the requirements, he/she may choose to purchase through the website.

If nothing meets the requirements or there are products meeting the requirements but don't want to get it from the website for whatever reason, don't need to do anything but close the window. No sour face on our part and in fact, we are happy that someone uses the website.

We do not promise lowest price but we know the price is quite competitive. Feel free to compare the prices (again no sour face on our part).

thank you for the feeback and our apology got the late response.

we would like to address each of concern below....

i ask for workshop nearby where i can ask for stock availability of certain tyre

We have put the following note in the FAQ explaining the reason why we set up the website as per described.

Can I get the Network Workshop details before making an order to ask some questions directly?
Our sincerest apology as the Network Workshop details will be in the Order Confirmation email once you make a booking online.

This is due to the confidentiality agreement between us and the Network Workshops to only provide their details to confirmed buyer.

they insist i book via their link

We make a small margin when a consumer purchases through the website. The booking through the website is proof that the sale originates from us. If a consumer walks into the workshop and informs the worker that they are mytayar.com referral, it is very unlikely that it will be recognized by the owner of the workshop. Most workshops are managed by a manager or a supervisor while the owner is running few workshops. The owner is hardly in any one workshop at all time.

i end up booking a workshop that is so far away from my house
We are very surprised that this situation occurs to you. We have indicated where the workshop is located and the approximate distance from your location that you have typed on each of the tyre available for selection. You must have gone thorough multiple webpages where the same infos are displayed before you made the order. We put here a sample of what a consumer would see where pertinent infos are displayed. Our sincerest apology if the infos provided are insufficient.

furthermore booking is non refundable.
We have put the following note in the FAQ concerning the booking deposit. Essentially, if the fault is on the website or the workshop, we are happy to refund any money paid. We put each of the items regarding refund below.

Do you provide refund?
Prior getting the work done, we do not return the non-refundable deposit except for those cases mentioned under "What if I bought the wrong product?" above. Please contact us at +6010-77 82927 to discuss the situation.

In the event that we are unable to fulfill your order in accordance to the terms and conditions specifed on the website, we will be more be happy to refund the amount paid.

Any refund will be returned to the originating payment source. In the case of post work refund, we are not able to entertain your request unless it is specifically covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.

What if I bought the wrong product?
We do make mistake at times. Assuming that you have purchased the wrong product (you purchased Perodua Viva tyres for your Perodua MYVI as an example) during checkout, there are two methods you can explore.

Discuss it with the workshop to offer you the correct product for your application. Assuming that you agree to purchase the correct product from the workshop, you just need to pay for the purchase price less the non-refundable deposit already paid.
Assuming that you disagree to purchase the correct product from that particular workshop, you may go through the buying process again through the website for the correct product. After you have paid the non-refundable deposit for the correct product, please contact us for the refund of the non-refundable deposit made for the wrong product. We will review your request after discussing it with the workshop to prevent system abuse.

What if the product I ordered is out-of-stock?

While we and the Network Workshops put great emphasis of ensuring stock availability for the products on the website, on some occassions, we might end up with out-of-stock situation. For example, a walk-in customer might had just bought the last unit before your order.

In this situation, the workshops may be able to offer you alternative products for your decision. You may then either accept the alternative products at the price to be agreed between you and the workshop. The price quoted by the workshop has already considered the deposit paid.

In the event that the Network Workshop is unable to fulfil you order with the product that you required within 3 working days, we would refund the payment made by you for the said order.

Please contact us at +6010-77 TAYAR (+6010-77 82927) to discuss further.

Why I cannot get my non-refundable deposit back?
To ensure that we can offer you the lowest price possible, the workshops are practising "just in time" purchasing to avoid financial cost associated with keeping the inventory. The workshops would stock the product as soon as he is aware that someone has bought such a product. In the event of cancellation, the workshop has an inventory that will take time to clear. The non-refundable deposit shall be use to cover the financial cost of carrying products that you no longer need.

However, we found in the past, we dealt with several joy buyers who place orders with no intention of buying at all. The retailers have reserved or purchased the tyres to meet the order, but the joy buyers never turned up. The telephone number given belongs to someone else while the email address are just some random address. We trust the general public is genuine but we don't see the benefit of verifying email/telephone numbers of weed out scammers. Joy buyers cost money and unnecessary inconvenience for everyone. By putting the term "non-refundable deposit", we managed to minimise the joy buyers.

Hope we have provided clarification to you... Thanks a million...
