hlb fd "subject to cheque clearance" term

will the effective fd duration less cheque clearance days? consequently, lesser effective interests.

eg, cheque clearance 2days, then effective duration for a 3m fd is (3m - 2).

Are u sure hlb will minus 2 days interest?

I thought that statement is just to tell the FD is valid if the cheque clear.

effective 4.31%. any idea how they detect fresh funds in eFD?
*
if jsut looking for fresh fund, then, u can transfer to other bank and transfer back to MBB.

But, Some bank practise to check the different of balance in the earlier of period (calendar month) and current balance.
Example, 23 Mar 2016, balance 10,100 and u transfer out 10,000 to make the balance to 100 on 24 Mar 2016.
Now, u transfer back 10,000 back to that bank on 25 Mar to make the balance 10,000
If the bank check the different of balance, it will be 0 as 10,1000 - 10,100

A) If you got normal eFD say 10k, if you uplift it and it go to Savings, consider fresh fund?

B) If lets say Savings got 2k. Then you transfer 8k from other banks to your account. So you got 10k. This consider fresh fund?
*
a) how u do it? ask teller to give u cash when uplift and u use the same cash to deposit? this way may be consider fresh fund, but no do it so abvious lah
if u uplift the fd direct to SA, no considered fresh fund.

b) some bank practise full amount must be frsh fund, some no

I think he is asking about eFD fresh fund, not the conventional FD
*
normally, no differentlah for either conventional FD and eFD.

Also, pls check with bank if the money deposit via IBG/instant transfer within how many days still considered new funds.

we should enforce a standardized reporting template for posters to post fd info  vmad.gif

example:

Bank:
Branch/Location:
Date of Report/Placement:
Effective Interest/Profit Rate:
Promo Period (if any):
Minimum Placement:
Other Requirements: such as CASA, UT-linked, etc etc
Website/T&C (if any):
