Hisense  Budget TV  65 inch H9F which 900usd  got very good review in us market.  192 local dimming zone, Quantum dot panel. 120hz refresh rate. They compare H9F to Sony A9F & Samsung Q90r.

Still not available at Malaysia.  Hope Hisense  Malaysia can bring this model to Malaysia soon.

From what I read, it seems Hisense is also like TCL, not going to have US products launch here. So whoever waiting for the H9F product to come to Malaysia, can stretch the neck longer and longer. Similarly the Hisense U9E which is said to be launch in China, will likely not get to go to USA and other countries.

I am reading this :-

Think we are getting slightly different versions in the UK called the u7b, and u8b. The latter has 130 dimmable ones and 1000 nts HDR, being advertised for sale on amazon for £1099 (65 inch). The good news is that they include dolby vision, HDR+, but would have been nice if they had more dimmable zones. The next model up is this years u9a which doesn't have vision or HDR+. The USA models are Android and include quantum dot, which we don't get in the UK. I have the last Hisense FALD K720 which is brilliant, and would be interested in a new FALD from Hisense.

So at best in Malaysia, you will get probably get the 55" u7b or 65" u8b, which none of these are android TV.

Just as i said this news has come in that Philips has pulled out of selling it's 2019 OLED's in Australia as Hisense has just suffered big losses releasing its high end OLED's in Australia. It's so obvious that if you release a high end Hisense OLED that costs more than LG OLED you are setting yourself up for a fall. When it comes to OLED LG is main name that people think of when they think OLED. And Hisense is seen as a cheap brand. It's like trying to get people to pay more for a KIA car when they can buy a Bently for a cheaper price. Philips drops OLED TV launch Down Under after Hisense failure Someone at Hisenese's research department needs firing.
Phillips pulled out of selling 2019 OLED and Hisense suffered big losses due to the high end OLED's in Australia. OLED will be the lonely market for limited players only.

Hisense marketing strategy is really confusing. Every country seems to be different. u7b with VIDAA OS is supposed to be the replacement for u7a, but the model that we get here is B7700 with AndroidTV. probably Malaysian prefer the flexibility of Android?
*
Okays thanks for the info. Seems they are selling the non-android TV u7a together with ATV b7700. The B7700 is said to be newer than u7a, but seems have same spec with u7a ? I don't see anyone selling B7700 in lazada yet.

Actually got.. it is tagged as B7700UW in lazada 😄
I believe u7a will be phased out soon. Both models are categorized as 'premium' model. I dont know if hisense malaysia is going to introduce u7b since they already selling b7700 (specs are similar for both model except the OS). B7700 might be the replacement to u7a - b7700 supports dolby vision, newer processor but only 60hz panel.

Who knows.. maybe hisense direction is to introduce tv with android only and bring in 8 series to fill in the gap between 7 and 9 series.
*
The u7a or the b7700 specs are not great, I don't see them talking about the brightness ( nits ) and also local dimming zones only 16. Far too few to be useful.

But they are not 65. They are certified to show hdr content. So should be no problem.
*
TVs with low brightness (nits) will have poor HDR performance. Dolby Vision is a type of HDR. So the HDR/Dolby Vision in U7a are just superficial only.

U7a was released one year ago. After one year, Hisense repackage the same box under android, and sell it here as a new box, while in other countries, it sells u7b and other newer flagship model such as H9F.

Not just Hisense is doing that. I think other TV sellers also doing the same.

They repackage and add Dolby vision?

Nothing so exciting about Dolby vision when your brightness is low and local dimming zones are too few.

True la. Haha.. but how they get certification without upping the brightness?
*
It gets certified, just like many entry level products from different TV makers, get to be called supporting HDR.

But I don't see any entry level for certified for Dolby Vision. So this is sign to come that certification of Dolby Vision means nothing
*
It is because HDR is just a claim, manufacturers pays nobody and does not cost any money. Dolby Vision has to pay. Hisense has probably gotten a good deal due to their products in US, so they may have gotten license to use Dolby Vision on world wide basis cheap.

My guess.

Confusing matters further, not all Dolby Vision-certified sets meet all aspects of the specification. Individual 4K sets may have a different number of individual brightness-control zones, for example, which can significantly affect picture quality.

Ultimately, the gating factor is the TV itself, not simply whether it supports Dolby Vision.

Hisense U8B, that's the current Hisense midrange product.

I figured that B8000 would be a decent mid range spec tv. Brightness 440, peak could be higher. Dimming zones also more. Problem is not found in Malaysia.

Nothing interesting in Malaysia until they sell more upbeat products here in Malaysia such as H9F, U8B, B8000 ....

Rtings.com reviewed hisense H9F. Not available in Malaysia.

QUOTE
The Hisense H9F delivers great performance at a budget-friendly price and outperforms many pricier models. It is the highest end Hisense TV currently available in the United States. In this review, we compare it to 3 other popular models.

The Hisense H9F is a great 4k TV. It delivers great picture quality, with excellent peak brightness, deep blacks, and a great color gamut. This TV also has excellent motion handling, with an extremely fast response time and an optional black frame insertion feature. It has outstanding low input lag, and it supports most of the common input formats.

Unfortunately, there are some noticeable uniformity issues, including some distracting dirty screen effect, which isn't great for sports fans. Like the majority of displays with VA panels, the image degrades when viewed at an angle.

All new offerings in our country does not have WCG..huhu.
Better buy entry Sony X7000G which supports WCG (Triluminous)

U7A has WCG. But seriously if the brightness and contrast is low, how great can the wide color gamut be ? I wonder .... hmm.gif
