I juz downloaded a video *.rmvb

but i cant open it ..i've used video fixers to fix it..it cant be fixed.

changing to the other video formats...changing the extension names to *.zip & *.rar.. still cant open..



so may i know are there any other ways to solve it ???

u need install klite codec first

u need k-lite mega codec pack or real alternative

nono..i have already installed k-lite mega codec..

others RMVB files can be played...but this one cannot be played.


I don wanna delete the file..it caused me 5 hours to download.350mb.

Make sure it's fully downloaded or try repair it with fix tool

so..most probably the file corrupted.


juz don understand...the file size is exactly the same which i downloaded.

I met this problem before. And, I found that the file had corrupted. So, I go re-download again. This only happen to RMVB files. Now, rarely to download RMVB video.

If any forumers know how to solve this problem, plz post the method here.

ya... some video can, some cannot. I think the redownload-and-cannot one should be corrupted ady.


I had tried a lot of method: install K-Lite codec, install Real Alternative, install Real Player... all cannot work.

there is juz a way to solve this problem
although you dun like it (me neither too)
but juz that way can work... re-download that video

i experience it before
but luckily that file is juz around 250MB only

rename the file & folder ... and try ...

Use realplayer try find it at download.com .rm or .rmvb file format is realplayer format

already renamed to all kind of files..avi, wmv, mpg, zip, rar, rm, ram, ra, rmvb, mov....

what else to rename? can u suggest??


i already got latest realplayer..and others rmvb / rm files can be played.this one i dono why..

i thought the video fixer will even repair the video file which is partly downloaded..
but it says cannot be fixed. sigh..

i even converted the video file to other formats...still cannot.

usually Real Player does the trick, since its a Real Media Variable Bitrate. for your case, well, i'm not too sure either

ur file is chinse filename or not ?
sometmes i rename it to numbering or english words, may run properly.
but i dunno ur case is same as mine not.

Are u sure its a valid VIDEO file?
Have u used the klite GSpot codec information to check?

If I'm not mistaken, that's only for *.rm, but *.rmvb can be open even though the file/folder is unicode
