Is the fifth foot or call ART really useful or just a gimmic
*
Is quite useful as the AVR is quite heavy. It help to support the weight

After select processing ( upscale) then below got video adjustment, select from 1-6, each number represent brightness or contrast but mine press from 1-6 also no respond. Any ideal or it like that for this model.

Guys is it possible i request for a 1 to 1 change for my AVR  since under warranty n in the spate of 5 months break down 3 times. Problem is the volume go crazy it will crank up by itself to max volume n after that the avr just turn off itself. My worry is it might spoil my spk. Aldy send to yammy sc n each time after repair come back will last about 1month n the symtion come back.

Why not call Yamaha to ask. They will better tell you if there is problem especially if your unit is new. If got problem can claim warranty

Hi all,

Currently using Yamaha RX-V683 receiver for my 5.1 sound system, and plan to to add a pair of in ceiling speakers to upgrade to 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos. So, would like to know whether the receiver capable to drive the 5.1.2 sound system? Any negative impact to the sound quality if the in ceiling speakers are added ? Are the in ceiling speakers match my current setup? Thanks !
Plan to get -
Yamaha NS-IC800 8" in ceiling speakers : Input Power (Maximum / Nominal) = 140W / 50W, 8 Ohms

Current system -
Receiver - Yamaha RX-V683 :
Channel : 7.2
Rated Output Power (1kHz, 1ch driven) : 150 W (4 ohms, 0.9% THD)
Rated Output Power (20Hz-20kHz, 2ch driven) : 90 W (8 ohms, 0.06% THD)
Maximum Effective Output Power (1kHz, 1ch driven) (JEITA) : 150 W (8 ohms, 10% THD)
Dynamic Power per Channel (8/6/4/2 ohms) : 125 / 165 / 190 / 235 W

Front L, R : Yamaha NS-F330 : Input Power (Maximum / Nominal) = 200W / 50W, 6 Ohms

Center : Yamaha NS-PC350 : Input Power (Maximum / Nominal) = 200W / 100W, 6 Ohms

Surround x2 : Yamaha NS-PB350 : Input Power (Maximum / Nominal) = 150W / 50W, 6 Ohms

Subwoofer : Yamaha NS-SW300 : 10", Output Power = 250W

Yes definitely it can. The more speaker you add, the power will have to distribute out more. What does it mean to over all sound ? One thing will be depend on how loud you go.
I can see you using all Yamaha speakers, than I will say yes it will match. Come and join Home Theater and Hifi Malaysia FB. There are a lot more people there if you want to ask
for opinion

Safe to say that with low volume that you are currently using is not going to be much issue. Timber matching is saying to use same brand and model of speaker to have same sound signature. See you in FB

Hi guys, I planned for Yamaha RX-V485. Is it worth to go? About the Atmos, as heard some receiver can be upgrade via firmware. Not sure can be done on 85 series.
*
If you want atmos get the version that has it. Don’t hope for firmware upgrade

So far atmos feature available on high end model only, unsure worth for investment as I can't find any movie contents with atmos in the market yet.

Concerned that atmos contents may not able to process by other Dolby audio system and muted. Ended up for another investment just bcos of atmos. sweat.gif I guess it won't occur since 7.1 contents compatible with 5.1 speakers system.
*
There are plenty of low end models had atmos. No offence but majority of movie since 2017 are atmos or dts x content. Sound format are all backward compatible. Not sure what is your concern.
