In all honesty I'm no book/novel avvid reader.
I need at least a few more books/novels ; 4 to be honest out of a total of 5.
Reason being, I received an assignment which requires me to do a review of each.
I am totally lost.
The due date will be in another next two weeks.
And I still had not found any titles yet.

Requirements:

- Hopefully something easy and straightforward but impactful so I could understand it better and write something about it easily.

- must be more than 100 pages long. But I hoped for nothing more than 300 pages. I have no time.

- Theme: anything but sci-fi and romance and anything weird.

Thank you.

Thanks both.
Titles sounds great, but I feel that it might be heavy.

But dont worry.
Just keep it coming guys.

I'll be paying a visit to a library tomorrow to borrow the books.

Choose the classics. Choose small books. Choose simple young adult stuff instead of the difficult things. I'll recommend Alice over Ulysses. smile.gif

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ulysses-Wordsworth...eywords=ulysses

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tarzan-Apes-Edgar-...zan+of+the+apes

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Catcher-Rye-J-...348JZ7HJKAY83AJ

I especially like this one, but it breaks both your no sci-fi and romance rule.

A bit thick, but if want to cheat, this was episode 72 in the Starship Sofa podcast. http://www.starshipsofa.com/forums/topic/e...s-for-algernon/

Come to think of it, many of the classics can be found on sites like librivox (where everything is free). You don't actually have to read. Somebody would read them for you. You just listen. If you have money to spend, go to audible, better quality, and more recent stuff.

Been reading books by Ken Follett.

Historical novel based on real world event.

Plenty of stuff to discuss about.

For older era-
Pillar of Earth & World without end
(everything is more black & white)

For more modern era-
The Century Trilogy: Fall of Giants, Winter of the World, Edge of Eternity
based on World war 1, world war 2, and cold war era respectively (and shit tons of politics)

I'm really interested with To Kill a Mockingbird.

Anyway, I went to public library the other day in Shah Alam, and I got myself few books. That's actually my first time going to the public library in Shah Alam and I have to say the place is nice. I wanted to say not much books but I havent venture to all the floors yet. But from the looks of it, yeah, i can safely say there arent much choice. Although the books are classified by genres but they mixed them up by languages eg. bahasa with english.

I got myself 3 books.

first one which i recommend to everyone is Winter Town. I am no fan for romance but this book is really interesting.

Hi Teddysaur. Where is this library located? Do you think they'll accept book donations? I have some books not suitable for book exchange which I'd like to give a home to. These are non fictions and the SJBEP doesn't get many readers for this category.
