Just to check whether Maxis has changed the carrier name displayed on mobile? I just changed from micro to nano sim and instead of showing "MY MAXIS" as usual, it shows "Maxis Communications Berhad" (like attached screenshot). What a mouthful name. Please shed some light here, quite a long name to display it on mobile phone and it will truncated at odd position which looks ugly.

Hi Bugeca,

Have you update your current OS version in this device? Have you insert the same SIM card to an alternate device to see the mobile operator name?

Thank you

I did not swap yet with other phone (no phone with nano at the moment). I did compared the SIM info with other phone and the "Network" details is different. The phone will read from the SIM right for the carrier name?

Hi Bugeca,

Yes, it does. If you perform manual network search in your device setting, what is the list of available network? Are you able to select Maxis 3G?

Thank you
Sam

Nope, no short form Maxis name appeared, only Maxis Communications Berhad. Telco C returns with common name but Telco D and U returns with full name like business registration name. smile.gif

Anyway, it is not an issue for me technically; only aesthetically. Just wanted to know whether Maxis is changing the carrier name moving forward? I like the old one thou.

Hi Bugeca,

As per checking, there is no change in term of our mobile operator name - My Maxis. Perhaps, you may try to upgrade your operating system to its latest version.

Thank you

Can Maxis Centre do some info modifications on the SIM card? Changing the Network Name for example. I'm running latest OS version already. I'm attaching additional screenshots for reference. Captured from different SIM and phones. My previous SIM card info is same on the right.

Hi Bugeca,

By default, the operator name should be My Maxis instead Maxis Communication Berhad. When did you make the SIM card replacement? Where is the location?

Thank you

Hi Bugeca,

As per advised, there is no change in term of our mobile operator name. Kindly walk in to any Maxis Centre to perform checking on your SIM card. You may request for SIM card replacement if it turns out to be the faulty of the SIM card. No charges will be applied for the replacement.

Thank you
