overtake at 3k - 4k i think is quite a good power band to us. My ex-ride which is Persona AT 4 gears only, overtake may rise the RPM to above 4k lo.. and still find it slowly picking up.. hahaha..

MissHanz, I would advise you perform a check at SC. Dont think our Mazda3 is such a fuel thirsty monster. Previously I travel from Puchong to TTDI through LDP. Imaging 1 hr drive with almost 90% of time crawling in heavy traffic, I-stop was deactivated. I still can get above 500km per full tank. Round trip daily is around 50km, sometime it might take me 1 and half hour just to get back to Puchong.

Dear sifus,

My car seems to move slightly towards the left when my hands are not on the steering while driving on the straight road. I raised this point to the SC when I sent my car for 1000km service and they said they have fixed it.

Somehow 2 weeks later, my car still feels the same. sad.gif

Is it normal for a new car to have problem with balancing / alignment? Can I send it back to SC for them to check again?
*
I am on the same issue as you. Vehicle tends to slightly pull left when you let go the steering, but the steering angle is absolutely straight in my case. I will get alignment done at workshop outside on this Saturday. Report back on the result later.

i have been driving for 5 weeks, found out there is rattling sound from few areas

- the famous krunk krunk sound while went thru bump at from wheel
- rattling sound from driver side door panel
- rear seat - shd be from the panel at the rear 3rd brake light
*
I have the noise from the 3rd brake light. My case is where the brake light case/cover clips were broken during tint installation. Haiz. Doesn't want to go thru the hassle arguing with the tint shop. So I just use double side tap to stick the case tightly.

I installed Raytech Ultra 70 for my front windscreen but now I'm having problems with smart tag. 90% of the time it fails to open the barrier when I hold the tag up to the side of the windscreen. I've installed new battery and tested my smart tag and it is in working order. Is there anybody here who installed the same tint for Mazda 3 facing this problem? If I'm the only one I seriously doubt I've been given Ultra 70. Appreciate some feedback bros.
*
Hi bro, same tint here. Raytech U70. Smart tag has to place almost side to side, quite close to the windscreen. I tried few times putting it behind the MZD screen, it opens. But need to scan twice.. 1st attempt, "Tiada smart tag". 2nd attempt, smart tag detected, but already very close to the barrier.. thumbsup.gif

Just booked a M3 High Spec from Bro Lucifal. Was thinking of getting meteor grey until I stepped into his showroom saw a blue reflex unit. Now deciding between these colors 😂
*
That was a fast move! hahaha.. Bro, happy headache in deciding the colors.. hahaha...
FYI, Blue Reflex is really nice, and it's so rare on the road.. rclxms.gif

My first choice is the Blue Reflex, however my timing is not right. So switch to Aluminium Metallic. thumbsup.gif

9L/100km is not very normal, either your leg too heavy or the traffic condition that causes you to burn more fuel (e.g. traffic jam)

mine is average at 8.2L currently

if i'm not mistaken, m3 60-80km/h that time still in 4th gear or 5th gear, after 100 only it will shift to 6th gear, and it like to drop gear when you just press slightly harder on accelerator
*
Bro, try observe again. Over 60km/h my m3 already on 6th gear.

nope bro, didn't change to manual mode.. it will just upshift until no more shifting happen. there you know you're on 6th gear.

KL to Ipoh, bro...no worries, I will keep it within the speed limit. Will be keeping an ear out to the tyre roar..to see if I wanna do wheel arch coating. So far, driving along federal highway is ok for me lar...the tyre roar almost similar to my Inspira.

What would be the best tyre pressure to maintain, most just driver and front passenger only ? I know it's subjective...just getting some feedback. Right now I've kept it at 270 kPa
*
Most of the time I'm with my GF only, barely will take people at the back. City driving, I keep it at 250kpa and I felt the tyre roar become softer. On highway, I will pump more to like yours, 270 / 280 kpa for better rolling. blush.gif Perhaps it's just my own opinion la.. thumbsup.gif

TLDR;
Car made sounds, thought it was parts fault since I just changed it during warranty claim, turns out it was my front skirting that came loose, simple solution but Mazda sharpen butcher knife and charged me RM2,555, blood shot up, died. Not willing to buy Mazda again, since this is not the only thing I find unreliable as much as brand tyt.
*
Hi Miss Hanz, sorry to heard that. However, SC quotation has always been like that. Not only Mazda, other car makers as well. My previous H.City, rear ended by other car. Sent the car to Honda panel, quoted around 1.5k just for the bumper, respray and labour charge. Of course, we always have alternative solution which is after market parts. End up, I just forked out around 700 to settle down.

Don't be mad with the attendant. Though she was not supposed to treat you like that and gave you unpleasant experience. Just forgive her la, Mazda still a good car. Peace thumbsup.gif

*Well, the famous ngek ngek and kruk kruk sound, are come as a package. hahaha.. Your are lucky as you already got it replace. I still in queue. cry.gif

So the bump stopper does eliminate the kruk kruk sound? Ngek ngek sound is relates to lower arm bush.

so far no vibration issue yet, can try go outside workshop for alignment and balancing la

bloody sc want to charge me RM79 for alignment as it is not included in the service, even after i complain about my car is pull to the left while driving they also refuse to give a free alignment check vmad.gif i thought alignment should be included in checking  mad.gif

I had alignment issue as well when i first got my car, then i complaint to SC when i did my first service and they fixed it for me for free. However it still a minor pull to the left.
*
Mine did slightly pull left too.. Need to always correct it with little force to the right. Not a major issue, but i dislike the feel where the alignment is not straight.

Hey folks,

I'm gonna go in for my 1st service soon. Anyone using fully synthetic engine oil for their ride ?
The free service uses semi-synthetic engine oil but i'm wondering if its ok for a 6 months/10,000km service interval. I don't mind topping up for fully synthetic though.

Gotta check a few things during the service:
1. "Tok" sound from the front suspension..sound like its coming from the right hand side.

2.  Occasional "gong" sound from the back..usually when turning up to a carpark ramp or a mid-corner bumper on the road.

3.  "Tik-tik" sound coming from the centre of the dashboard on bumpy roads. This i might live with it as I'm reluctant to open up the dashboard...might create even more sounds after opening it up  blink.gif

Anyway, coming from a Proton which was a like an orchestra, the above sounds are pretty minimal to me  laugh.gif
*
What I know:

Engine oil: Take note that there are some SC provide 2 FULL SYNC Engine Oil(EO) from Shell. If not mistaken la,
1. Topup RM 150+-, Full Sync with grade 5w-40 or 10w-40. Can't remember. Hope some members could clarify.
2. Topup RM 220+-, Full Sync with grade 5w-30.

1. Never heard of "tok" sound. Instead of "tok", oftenly we heard is"kruk kruk" sound. Occurred mostly when the vehicle passing any uneven road surface or go over a bump.

2. No idea. My car didn't create such noise. Lucky though. notworthy.gif

3. "Tik Tik" sound. No idea. But noise source coming from center of dashboard, you may want to check the your sunglasses holder. Else, let SC to identify for you. thumbsup.gif

I also upgraded from Persona. Well, it doesn't sounds like orchestra. Because I will try to identify and eliminates the noise as much as I can, same as in now.

I still trying to figure out the way to eliminates the ticking noise coming from the glove box on passenger side. The black box is creating the ticking noise, no matter how I tighten the cables with cable tie, squeeze some sponge inside. The noise is still there. Damn~ shakehead.gif

Never knew there is such vents below the seats. Hahaha.. Does your passenger's toes feeling chill? laugh.gif
Update us so that we could say we have the rear air vents, but for the toes only.. Hahahaha..

mean the free semi oil is at xW30 ? and top up fully is @ xW40 ?
hmmm

There are 2 choices bro..

At first I read members say topup 1xx can upgrade fully.

Then I visit SC, I requested for Fully EO, the topup amount is 2xx. blink.gif

The clarification is, 1xx is 5W-40, 2xx is 5W-30. Hence, I give up. laugh.gif Never expect to be 2xx. Better go outside workshop and do it.

Just finished my 1st service this morning.
I've decided to use the free semi-syn oil. Odd that need to use 5L of oil blink.gif My 2.0 Inspira used abt 4.3L only.

Suspension knocking sound is due to the bump stopper apparently..need to order the parts and come back again in 2 weeks time. Think I'll just get it done during the 2nd service.

For the metallic sound at the back, they've tightened some nuts and adjusted the exhaust bracket or something like that. My guess is its the exhaust heat shield they've adjusted.
Anyway, fast and friendly service 👍

Yes bro, it dimmed when headlight is switched on. You try observe other M3 during day time and night time. You can notice the brightness of DRL is lower in night time.

QUOTE(Area51SE @ Apr 23 2016, 03:37 AM)
A question regarding the I-Activesense Smart city braking for this car, How does it specifically function? Example...let's say if u were to park your car as close as possible to the front car due to limited space...would the smart city braking helps to brake to prevent you from hitting the front car ? If yes, what if u insist to park close to it? would the system allow u to do so? Or this system only function only at a certain speed to prevent drivers (especially those who uses their phone and not paying fully attention to the road) from hitting the front car during low speed / traffic jam? Explanation regarding this system is muchly appreciated. Thanks
*
To your question, during parking, NO. The SCBS will not activate since the minimum speed to trigger is 4km/h. Dont think you will achieve that speed during parking. So, no worry during parking. What you need to worry is the long hood which usually make us hard to judge the distance.

And speaking from what I experienced, it does detects motorcycles. Pedestrian not sure. My scenario is few times I followed closely to the vehicle in front during traffic jam. Crawling above the said minimum speed, and suddenly the bike cuts my lanes and my SCBS triggered and E-Brake. Terkejut.. laugh.gif

However, just don't over rely on this. It aimed to help prevent collision only, not for your comfort to do other things while not paying attention to the traffic. But, good to have la.. Ada backup is always better. thumbup.gif

QUOTE(amduser @ Apr 23 2016, 08:47 AM)
no money to change tires for track session lar cry.gif
dont trust the SCBS, it only works when you are 4km/h - 30km/h, not sure if it work below 4km/h

it does help if driver is not paying attention, when the SCBS activate your car will apply full brake and your car come to a stop, however if the obstacle in front cleared out when while you are stopping then SCBS will stop function and you will have control again

if you insist to accelerate after SCBS activate you will probably heard a loud bang (which mean you bang the car in front)

it doesn't work well with motorcycle and pedestrian, there are also chances that it might fail to detect the car in front, it relies on the sensor mounted on top the windscreen, if the windscreen is dirty and covered the sensor then it wont work well

if SCBS managed to stop your car and prevent you hitting the car in front, you probably have like few cm to 1 inch left between your bumper and the car in front

you can try this on touch and go or smart tag boom gate, i tried once and it works laugh.gif
*
hahaha.. Don't la ask ppl go to test at toll barrier, later ppl see why there are many M3 play around at toll gate there..
But I guess, most of us experience the first SCBS at toll gate la.. wahahaha laugh.gif

As an advice, if you want to test it, pls do not bring any passenger. It will frighten them.. rclxs0.gif

since here is recommending Sungai Besi service center, im going to hav my 1k service soon.

shall i just walk in or need to pre-appointment?

If you from Puchong Or Taman Equine (Seri Kembangan / Serdang) area, you could visit the SC at Equine Park. You can easily find them on Waze or Google Map. No queue on the day I went. rclxm9.gif

Still, before you go any service center, better to make appointment, and get them well informed what are the issue you are facing.
FYI, I got my bump stopper replaced and 10k service at there within 1 and half hour. I would say they are really fast.
Great service, helpful and polite attendant, and nice waiting lounge upstairs.
