Heard a lot about Mazda 3 knocking sound due to low arm bush/ bearing…
May I know is this a very common problem?
And has a permanent solution been found?

I'm looking to book one Mazda 3 too.

I just changed my lower arm bush.. The sound still there but very minor.. It's annoying, other then that nothing bad.

So depend on how you see.. For me, I drive alone so no a big issue
*
Never actually heard the sound before, is it very annoying? Or it's just not loud that you can cover it with radio or music in car?

Annoying for me, it's more frequent when after rain.

Most if not all the times, is when you cross over speed bump. If you are soft and patient driver, you can really slow down when crossing bump.. Then there won't be sound...

I am a harsh driver
*
Hi Jim, in your case, can the music/ radio cover the noise if u cross over speed bump fast?
It happens only when crossing speed bumps?
pot holes or uneven roads wont got sound?

Potholes not really for me.. Most if not all of the knocking sound is from crossing the speed bumps.

Yes, still csn be hear even with music on. I always set my Vol to 10.

It happens only when the road is wet. Not a big deal for me. Because of the nature of the sound (like a loud creak) it is difficult to mask it with music. But if it bothers you you can get the SC to change some parts for you.
*
So as a Mazda 3 owner, you all would still think it's a great choice to buy? Even though with some knocking sound?

Why not? No car is a perfect car nod.gif

My car also got sound at the side skirt and also rear. Like wire is loose and keep hitting the chassis.

Mind to share your car model?

If you enter a corner with uneven surface, the knocking sound will be very prominent. When it rains and you cross a speed hump, it sounds "ngek"....

If official genuine parts can't solve it even after replacing, hope that few years down the road, got aftermarket parts that can solve it...
*
You have the same problem too? CKD or CBU?
U already replaced the lower arm bush?
In your opinion, is the sound very annoying/ bearable/ minor?

I drive CKD version. I'm still in the que to get it replaced.

How does it sound is very subjective and personal, so i can't really give you an answer on that. What i can say is, as I've driven my old previous car with the lower arm making noise for a number of years, I'm rather fine with it.

The sound isn't annoying but the fact that this happens on a new car model right after driving out of the showroom floor does annoy me. My previous car have this sound starting only around year 8 or 9 of the ownership, so kind of understandable. My other family car which is a SUV and approaching year 5 of ownership. But the suspension is still doing well.
*
Thanks for your info, i really like M3 a lot, actually since it launched the CBU version, but that time i wasnt looking to change my car, so just pure admiration. So when i finally looking to change my old car, really wanted to go for m3

And when i'm doing research on M3, seems so many ppl have this problem, so it makes me thinking whether m3 is a good choice, as i plan to drive this car like 10 years. If the sound can be covered by music, i think it would be ok for me, if it's obvious, and no permanent fix, i need to think again whether i can live with it for 10 years.

Para sifus sekalian, I'm getting mine soon. Currently deciding which tint brand to go for. What are you guys using? Any problem with discoloration/heat rejection after a few months/years?

I'm considering raytech, cannycool and 3m at the moment, but don't know which one to pick. Budget is around 1k - 2.5k  icon_question.gif  rclxub.gif

Did you manage to repair the tyre? Otherwise the 18" Toyo is going to be expensive.

Is it on highway?
If yes, maybe can try to claim from the highway management?

When you go for service, request the service technician to adjust the angle higher. The default setting's light throw is very short, so feel like not bright enough.
Glad that you're joining our club of owners soon  rclxm9.gif

Which colour you go for? And how long was the estimated delivery?

I booked meteor gray, they have ready stock, so should be in 1-2 weeks time, providing everything go smooth la ^^
