Hi, just tried android auto. Works! Very elegant UI to connect, by going to Apps > Android Auto, meaning it is intergrated as a native app!
Pretty cool, but your Android will be in driving mode and while it can take calls and whatsapp messages (it reads it out to you), it's pretty limiting. CastScreen is the best though. I can use Waze from my Android, and audio is played through car speakers. Latency very very minimal, you wouldn't even really notice it. Basically anything you can do on android you can through Mazda Connect Display. Touchscreen on Mazda Connect does not work. Reverse Camera may not work.

AT YOUR OWN RISK
Please remember that these apps are only suitable for V50 and above. Apps may interfere with reverse camera and audio. Understand that there is a risk of bricking your system so don't do any of the below if you don't know what you are doing.

ANDROID AUTO
1.  Install Android Auto app on your Mazda Connect
2.  Install Android Auto app on your phone
3. Connect the phone to USB and pair the phone bluetooth with the CMU
4. Switch audio input manually to Bluetooth Audio
5. Click on the AA icon under Applications Menu on the CMU
6. A black screen with credits should open up first.
7. Android Auto will then start. If it does not, pull out the USB and start over again (or check the installation.)
8. 2 ways to stop AA - Disconnect the USB cable or use the onscreen menu "Return to Mazda Connect" on last screen with speedo icon.
9.  Here's a video.
10. This option does not need wifi.

CASTSCREEN
1. Install castscreen receiver on Mazda Connect.
2. Install castscreen on Android.
3. Select > H264 > 800x600@160 > 1 Mbps > Server Mode > Start.
4. Plug in your Android with data & charging cable (not all cables can be used for data transfer) and done.
5. Here's a video.
6. This option does not need wifi.

MAZDA MEDIA PLAYER
1. Install the Mazda Media Player app and connect your Mazda to your mobile's hotspot.
2. When connected, check in your phone connection settings and look for your IP address info that should look like 192.168.0.13.
3. Launch Mazda Media Player and input your IP address, other fields do not edit and press connect.
4. Use USB data & charging cable and launch Mirror, if successful it will immediately launch.
5. This option doesn't need to install anything to your Mazda Connect.

How to install app to Mazda Connect via USB
If you are unsure how to install apps on your Mazda Connect you can click here or download here, all installation files are included in this All-In-One(AIO) app, just have to select which tweaks you want to apply. Only USB 2.0 can be used, preferably <8GB capacity.

Thanks for your kind effort for this! thumbup.gif

Any problems/malfunctions after you have installed the Android Auto? Since you mentioned that back camera might not work.

The link for the Android app for Castscreen does not work. The one at Mazda3Revolution also doesn't work (same link). Can someone point me to a usable link to get the Android app?

Thanks.

Hi, I've just tested the links. All working fine.

Try just clicking on the link provided and not opening it as a separate tab.

No major problems or malfunction, your reverse camera doesn't work because the display is currently being occupied by Android Auto that's all. Disconnecting it will return your car camera back to normal. However once Android Auto froze on the disclaimer during launch; rebooting the CMU will return it back to normal. Press Nav + Mute and hold to reboot.

Do click on the title links to the original thread as current issues and how to solve them are all addressed there. Everything is being developed and improved as we speak so it's moving a long very fast. When I got my car and started tweaking, the AIO version was maybe just 1.36, now it's already V1.41 last checked. Barely one month only. Great work over at the mazda forums, really. Waiting for iOS only now smile.gif Hoping to get a more stable castscreen connection though.

It's working now, thanks. Must be due to bad connection on my part.

I'm sending my car in for tinting at Raytech tomorrow. Anything I should watch out for first? I certainly don't want to get a free dent like this Jetta owner.

Awesome, able to upgrade to version 56 and installed the AIO tweaks with cast screen. Works great!
But whole process really took a long time, lol. Not to mention to keep on going back and forth to the car to check on the installation, as it's too hot to just wait inside.

Guys whenever I get home and I apply brakes and wanna shut down, I stop kicks in first. So I have to wake it up again before I can turn off the engine. How do u guys deal with it?

It's happened to me but only a handful of times. IIRC if I stop kicks in and you shift to park, you can power down the car by pushing the start/stop button once. Make sure that your foot is off the brake though.

Another way to prevent I stop from activating would be to apply just enough brake pedal pressure to hold the car stationary. I stop will only activate if there is sufficient brake pressure so there is sort of a balance point in between.

did you guy notice that some car like to provoke you after you drive m3? just now i drive close to a Kia Rio on right lane then he might have thought that i'm provoking him, then after that keep tailgating me, i damn scare he will kiss me anytime, when he overtake me again i can see that the driver keep looking at me shocking.gif

seriously why would i want to provoke a Kia Rio and on a busy Sungai Besi highway shakehead.gif

bro i feel you. i agree on this. Been travelling between highways recently, airport NKVE, Elite, DUKE etc. i notice many cars tot im provoking them .. much like when you see many videos in youtube those lala wira mod when see Ferrari go race with them like that ... like will follow damn close behind, then i accelerate lo to show him im capable of going fast, but just wanna drive safe (got a friend died of speeding recently).. until i close to the car in front, just to let him know its the car in front slowing him down, not me ... most of the time ill just go aside and let them pass. but i dont practice the culture of looking to another driver when they pass by, to me, by doing that it feels like provoking ady haha ... or they will very aggressively overtake me , like very abrupt steering to cut in ... if i see this kinda ppl, especially at MEX where theres a lot of steep slope, i will dust them off there coz i know their car is struggling to climb

i got a feel because the M3 design , front DRL and tail light are very aggressive ... so ... car face problem lo , what to do, our car looks so nice ... like asking for fight like that ... haha

Yeah I did. Shall try to sync. Using fuelly now to track my petrol usage. Yeah, SC sorta just brushed it aside when I brought it up. But since it's improving I'll wait it out and see how. Target is to reach 500kmh per tank! Anyone driving above 130km/h usually can get 500km on one tank?
*
on average clocking 500km per tank is not hard for m3 even your speed vary from 100km above. For my ride, i can clock easily 600km on single tank with 60% highway with speed averaging from 90-150km. tongue.gif . if 70%-80% highway 700km is not a problem too. thumbsup.gif

Attached Image
mix driving and speed condition (but 70% on highway)
