I believe we all left the car with the passengers inside to do some thing like paying parking or just taking a piss ... The car remain on right ?

So for Our car with smart key , from entering car until starting the car we don't have to take the key out from pocket .. So what happen if we leave the car on , going out to do something with the key in ur pocket ? Will the immobiliser kicks in when they sense the smart key is gone ?

I've not tried what will happen after leaving the car with the key in pocket while the car is running, only the fact that there will be a warning beep if you go out of range. If your car's i-stop is activated, it will turn the engine back on the moment you open the car door.

My thoughts are that even though the car is still running, without the key within the car, the car system will refuse to let you shift gear, hence immobolising the car. But no worries it will turn off the engine or infotainment system for your passenger inside the car can still play with the radios. I think turning off of the engine can still be done if your passenger want to save you some petrol even though you took the car key away. Give it an experiment and report your findings here thumbup.gif

I did . I left my parents in the car while I went off to ATM machine . The moment I left the car , I can hear a loud beep , even with the door closed . I went off for I think 1 minutes plus ... The car still running fine , I'm not sure about another scenario where :
If you left the car but ur car blocked someone's car so ur passenger trying to sit on driver seat to help u move away ur car - with the smart key still in ur pocket away from the car ... Haha interesting fact

There is no problem driving the car when the key has left the vicinity. The car is unable to re-start when the engine is off, that' all.

Guys, do u experience a noisier engine when it starts when it's cold? (Blue temp indicator)

Mine is like way noisy when it's cold. Put it in gear and the noise goes away.

Normal starts its ok very quiet.

Normal for a high compression ratio and direct injection engine to make loud noise during cold start... Diesel engine like characteristics.. No worries.. Absolutely normal

this is very normal for all mazda skyactiv engines. Mazda uses accelerated warm up system to make the engine warm up faster in order to keep the engine functional in cold start. Also continental cars do comes with this system too. Just the matter of loud or soft. smile.gif

So... should we wait till the blue signal goes away, the rev goes down from 2k to ~800, before we drive? Or we can just drive straight away after driving? Any long term effect of doing the latter, if there's any?

for me, i'll wait around 30secs once started but you can drive straight away while maintaining the revs below 3k. just dun over rev the engine for the first few mins of driving. smile.gif

walk away lock functions when u turn off your engine, shut the door (your key be beside the car) , once you hear a beep sound you may walk away and the walk away lock will trigger the car to lock.

if you walk away first without waiting your passenger to shut the door, it will not function.
