Anyone have "Video" function in their MZD? Care to share the price and location to get it?
*
a few members in m3 Skyactiv club has done it, some said cannot after upgraded to android 6

http://www.lukasz-skalski.com/portfolio/mazda-media-player/

another way is to refer to page 1, first or second post there, but it will void warranty so do it at your own risk

For those who like to understand more about the engine technicalities, here's a good read :

thanks for the article, really a good read

seems like they really maxed out the engine and we dont really need to throw any aftermarket engine mod to it

QUOTE(MissHanz @ Apr 30 2016, 02:36 AM)
I did coating on mine and pay the local car washer at my area RM50 per month. One week wash 4 times, but if he see any birdbomb he will help me wipe away also, since it's very easy to come off. Specifically told him not to use soap. Most people discourage me because their cloth they use over and over again, may have pebbles or what not, but so far so good.. I can't possibly bring my car to wash 4 times a week, but also beh tahan when see my car so easy dirty rclxub.gif

Anyway, forgot who mentioned that they miss their Vios, but not sure if they are unhappy with their M3.. I feel the same way. I loved driving my Vios, but cannot say I want to go back to my Vios after driving M3, but still like some gnawing feeling like something is lacking, haha. Frustrating indeed.
*
car owners in other thread complain about rattling noise and parts failing, but we talk about our car being dirty laugh.gif

m3 and vios is a totally different car la, i does better in city driving while the other you drive 150km/h on highway still give considerable mileage per tank

the way the driver handle the car also have to be change, both car handle differently, when you need extra power from the m3, switch gear to M mode and downshift 2 times brows.gif

you need to give more love for your car, feel it and stay connect with it, it deserved your love

My M3 a month old now...done 1,458km so far.
Filled up about 41L of fuel tonight after 530km..which was basically a trip to Ipoh & back and short drives around KL for abt a week. Hardly revved more than 4K rpm. Pretty good for me...I suppose it gets better as I put in more mileage.

Say, has anyone tried KL Auto ? Not the chasis foaming bit but other stuff like the Quiet Drive wheel arch coating and those door insulation and rubber seals ?
*
not good enough, try to aim for 600km per tank, usually we compare fc by km/L or L/100km, not by tank

fc will increased dramatically in ipoh area because of slow driving and a lot of traffic light stop

anyone know what's the use of the fuel trip meter with AVG xx km/h display? when i get my car it stays at 22km/h, after i pump fuel and reset now it stay at 37km/h, i dont think my average speed is that slow hmm.gif

How was the new 2016 FL Infortainment Navi Maps? Is it better then initial CKD as was told initial maps quite lack if POI? Is it still Tom Tom?

Same infortainment system for M3 and CX5 rite?

Thx
*
firmware is model specific, dont think it can crossover, just like rom for android phone

map should be universal for all mazda Skyactiv model

POI not my concern, it lacks of road as well, sometime it show me driving offroad because there is no road at the map doh.gif

and the voice guidance is the worst ever when it pronounce those street name in BM, and if it cant pronounce it will skip

Can anyone tell me how many bars or fuel left until your fuel light comes on? Also, if anybody who averages 130km/h in your usual drive can tell me what's your driving range like, how often do you have to fuel in a month on avg?? Even when I drive slow below 3k rpm, below 110km speed I still for the life of me cannot even hit the 500km mark. rclxub.gif

When I drove to Kuantan last time at avg 120kmh I got 600km ++ which is impressive for me, but not compared to others. I don't do harsh brakes and accelerate smoothly also. Gahhhhhh
*
i usually drive around KL on weekend only, my fc is averaging at 7.6L/100km, every time i pump is around 37-39L, i dont challenge myself until light on only refuel, i usually refuel when it left around 3-4 bar

last week i get 8.3L/100km because i went up genting by driving aggressively, so the total trip for that tank only last around 440km tongue.gif

i noticed that m3 use more fuel when < 4th gear, which mean is around 0-49km/h on normal drive so it is best to stay out of this speed as soon as possible

i wonder if mazda got use defeat device for their emission test laugh.gif

Wow..  Thanks for the detail feedback..

You getting 14km/L is amazing. Notmally I believe this can only achieve by driving long distance on highway.. tongue.gif

Ever since current gen civic is equipped with CVT, it is not as well known as it's predecessor civic FD anymore, there is not much civic on the road nowadays but m3 is even more rare though tongue.gif

Hopefully the new civic can regain its former glory again but they want to stick with CVT which is a big turn off for me even though it come with a turbo, I rather stick with a conventional torque converter tongue.gif

actually nearby my house also got RM10 car wash with proper shop lot with meguiars sign board some more, but they use 1 cloth wipe whole car without rinse which increase chances of swirl marks shakehead.gif

usually i was it myself using those rinse-free shampoo but not very clean and i dont clean the fender

i just found out my bonnet got 2 paint chip off, probably is damaged by stone, my car is meteor gray and i can see the damaged part is white color, at first i thought is dirt but when i try to run it it seems like is the base paint, i thought base paint is usually black color? hmm.gif

Instead of coating, better do transparent wrap. Around the same price range of an expensive coating...

At least the wrap is a real physical protection, coating makes the car look really nice but not much substance when a real stone hit it...
*
how much it cost to wrap bonnet and front bumper?

I'm not exactly sure about the price, but a decent wrap cost around 3-4k for whole car with better ones costing more. I don't know about the maintenance part of it, can go ask the service provider.

I myself didn't do a transparent wrap, I don't have the $$$ for the time being. But my front end has some pock marks already as I drive rather fast on the highway. Maybe a little later, I'll do a coloured wrap as those cost lesser and can have unique colours without resorting to painting. Further, can remove it when get sick about it without damaging the original coat of paint and clear coat.
*
actually no need wrap whole car la, the rear hardly get scratches, mostly is front and the door when the car park beside you open their door and bang your car even though there is enough space for them to enter vmad.gif

omg that is quite expensive shocking.gif

QUOTE(Ginny88 @ May 3 2016, 02:17 PM)
I don't think wrapping is going to protect you from insensitive car door opening by the car parked beside you. Anyway how long will it last before it starts bubbling, lifting and peeling? From what I've observed it looks terrible after 1 year.
*
if possible, dont park beside other cars, if want park also park beside another m3, bmw or merc biggrin.gif

QUOTE(MissHanz @ May 3 2016, 05:53 PM)
Nope, my daily commute is just from Klang (near Eng Ann) to Sunway Pyramid and back. Sometimes go Klang Parade makan. (I have no life)
My best distance is 480km/h driving lightfoot. Usually around 380km already light up. My avg distance is 420km pumping 38litres. I am aware I can go further but it's alarming to passengers to drive with the light on.
Will take note, but usually after toll I straightaway accelerate to 120km in short stretch. Could that be why? Especially right after the i-city toll.
Same commute route then, except I go slightly faster. I have never gotten above 490km per tank before on my normal daily commute. Very disappointed. Only the one time when I drove up to cherating, and I was expected more than what I got (less than 650km).

tbcheese,May 2 2016, 09:12 AM
Lights up at 2 bars and has about 12litres in it when lighted. I usually drive around a little on the last bar before I pump.

Our fuel tank is 51litres so the next time you pump, you can see how much you put in and confirm for your car how much is left in case there are slight variations car to car.
*

Yes, that sounds about right. When I pump usually is 38litres, so now I try to push to last bar, maybe that's why I feel like I don't get much mileage as most of you are getting.
Okay, will try your method. Your driving style and FC sounds like me so maybe you can be my benchmark. Hopefully can find out best way to save fuel but I no more lightfoot. Decided to close one eye to it. Work hard. Get money. Burn fuel. Hahaha.
*
For your reference here is my fuel consumption since I get my car
Attached Image

And this is my vios until my last refuel before I get m3

if you are going for fast n furious driving then better change to lower end tires, like Dunlop D05 around RM350-400, still give above average wet and dry grip

Your fuel consumption for your M3 is very similar to MissHanz, getting about 450km - 480km per tank. Maybe this is typical for HS cars being heavier and shod with bigger rims. I'm getting FC like Ginny88 but both of us are driving GL.
*
most likely, because 18" and 16" is quite a big difference in term of weight

having the thought of downgrade my rims to 17" couple with low profile tires, wonder if it is worth but i'm short on cash now tongue.gif

QUOTE(edison5049 @ May 3 2016, 08:02 PM)
what you mean by fast and furious ah?
u mean drive like racer ah? i tot need more high end tyre if like racer..haha
*
fast and furious as in zig zag on the road, attack corner at highspeed, uphill, downhill , high sped braking and etc

toyo proxes and michelin PS series is the best you can get already, any higher will be semi slick which is quite dangerous at wet condition and they require some warm up for optimal performance

but only 1 rosak...its not because of racing, it was "terhimpit" with the side bump...

so the tyre wall there pecah...cannot fix

you only change 1 tyre? tyres has to change in a pair at least, depends on the difference of thread wear between 2 tyres changing one side will have uneven wear and your car handling will be very weird soon
