Hi everyone, I am new in building a desktop. Am finding chassis which suites h170m-d3h. Previously was thinking of buying a cosair spec03. But from what I've heard they said that h170m mobo is micro-atx which might no suit the chassis.. My Budget is around rm 300..any recommendation? Thanks for helping! Appreciated.

Carbide spec 3 is Mid tower ATX. it can fit itx, m-atx and atx.

Other options you can go is either

Cooler Master : Silencio 352 (Silent case)
Corsair : Carbide 200R
Thermaltakes : H21-H25 / V4
Armaggeddon : Hectotron

Or you can go like mine if you like Cube design.
Aerocool DS Cube.

um..truthfully I wanna let go the case. Im thinking of swapping it to maybe silent case like Silencio 352 if someone wants it.

What I like and hate(80%) about Aerocool DS Cube
Attached Image

Like

1. It has PCI-e locking mechanism at the back so you dont have to screw your gpu

2. Spacious ( but quite hard to cable manage )

3. can fit some big air cooler ( havent tested but already watch other people build ) and water cooler.

4. can see your gpu. lol.

Hate

1. Yes bottom and top have dust filter, but sadly not for front. Plus with slow 20cm fan, it piles up dust very quickly at the poorly small side intake for front.

2. The caddy for 3.5hdd is nightmare once you installed your HDD.... yes its good that it has rubber gromit on all 4 screw for ur hdd for anti vibrate. but once you decide to pull it back out, get ready to pull it gently but, hard because it became very tight and nearly impossible to remove the caddy. I nearly broke my caddy (cause its plastic ) and damage its pushpin by the side. The only solution i found is either you remove all 4 rubber gromit, or buy a aftermarket metal caddy that fits in the hdd cage...

3. The dead silence name does not fit for it. lol. maybe cause my board does not has pwm port / fan controller. so my fan is noticeable loud. lucky im wearing headphone.

So sum up. I love cube design. but i guess this cool looking case, is very promising but done poorly.

ohmy.gif thanks for the honest review. i do found out that front small space for intake gonna suck up the dust due to no dust filter i assumed. Have you tried using other type of fans (eg silent fans)..i do believe the stock fans are ridiculously bad

What I list yesterday is a budget case. There is other option if you want. Just make sure its state Mid tower ( atx + matx + itx support ) or if u just want micro ( m-atx / u-atx ).
Just make sure before you decide to buy it check at its website by typing the modekl name first for its appearence, support, and edge over other case around same price. If like me, I usually look for the one can remove its hdd cage etc*, cable managing space behind motherboard ( yes i like to manage my cable as tidy as i can ) and support long gpu.

Best case so far I actually want is Fractal Design, but its rare here in Malaysia..well I havent found it anywhere yet except some shop near my place bt sell expensive. I want fractal define S / ARC midi R2.

Nope im not using its stock fan. Havent tried silent fan (bloody expensive lol) just using cheap x-fives. haha. But Yeah i believe its good if you can get all 3 silent fan as exhaust top and back, and for front maybe use one of those thermaltakes / bitfenix spectre 20cm, and buy those aftermarket dustfilter, some pc shop sells it. or.. you strap 2 120cm with cabel tie..or this

aside from the crazy mods. Notice they make a custom blowhole for it. lol

You should get good fans as it can withdraw more air into the case..therefore I'm wondering about the dust in the first place hmm.gif
Those crazy mods are definitely awesome looking, needed to drills those holes i guess

Well the only annoying thing that annoys me the most is the HDD caddy, which more problematic than frontal side intake. Right now i can hear my hdd vibrating when remove the rubber gromit.

Can you mount the HDD without the caddy? I mean is there any mounting holes for the hdd that conveniently enough to sit it without hassle?

Because the rubber gromit is Originally installed on the 3.5" caddy? ( im not talking about the 2.5" rubber gromit that came in the box, im talking about the one installed on the 3.5", check yours. )
I don't know maybe cause my seagate SSHD fat thats why i remove the rubber gromit? haha?....
