Yes it's a good investment. Consoles have a 10 yr cycle historically but in this day and age it gets shorter. Ps4 is already bout 3 yrs old so for sure at it will be good for at least 2 yrs (up till 2018) but beyond that it's hard to tell. Discontinued will be another 3-4 yrs at least. So if u wanna calculate investment, and entertainment system of rm 1400 lasting for 2 yrs? That's good. That's about RM 100 per month equivalent to 4-5 movies in cinema that lasts 10-12 hrs but with PS it will lasts more than that and can play whenever u like.

Digital copies are bought and downloaded over psn store online so u will need to connect ur ps4 to a network. It's a straightforward purchase (either use ur own credit card or buy the psn card to load money in to ur acct which u will need to create when sign up online). Download and install automatically. It's as straightforward as it gets. U can also start playing halfway thru the download for some if not all games.

1. Doesn't matter which set. Can play all games. But at least Asia Set you'll have local warranty. US set no warranty unless your retailer wants to give you (coz its not manufacturer's warranty)

2. PS Asia. Not much different now (don't believe the hype US is better). Prices are pretty equivalent now and 95% of games are the same across both regions. Asia will net you lots of Japanese based games (some exclusive, some earlier than US counterparts). Also most retailers sell Asia region games disc where the DLC (Download content) is only from Asia PSN (@ accounts). Also you will need PS+ which is a year's subscription that includes free games (RM 129 for 1 year in Malaysia, USD 49 = RM 200 at current prices for 1 year in US). This allows you also to play Multiplayer on PS4, and back to the free games, they're the same as US 90% of the time with the exception of few Jap games exclusive to Asia. Last exclusive US game I was checking out is Hitman GO (an iOS/Android mobile game that also can play on PS4). There is no harm in creating US account but if you want to buy stuff you need to buy PSN US Cards and note exchange rate is now 1:4).

3. Sounds good - the free One Year is not PSN membership - sounds like PS+ membership as creating PSN account is free.

Yes it will void and u need the original hdd if u wanna claim warranty. For sure ur HD will not be covered but if u bring in with for warranty claim with a different hdd, Sony may give 1001 excuses why they won't cover it.
