Optical isn't just used for receivers. It can be used for headphone DACs/DSPs for much better sound quality than the mediocre stuff that is offered by "gaming headsets".

Sony wants people to jump into VR and one of the most important aspects in VR is audio. What? They expect everyone to have a great audio experience out of the poorly amp'd 3.5mm output from the DS4 or the breakout PSVR box?

Just to add, the MDR-100AAP headphones that Sony is using for their PSVR demos are actually pretty good headphones when used with decent DAPs, except it sounded like ass when being connected to the PSVR box.

Just placed an order ps4 pro. My reasons - Need to change my ds4 which is quite worn up n to upgrade my hd as im into digital contents. I didn't buy the 4k gimmicks, but would prefer if they can improve the frame rates at 1080p. So let's see the breakdown cost of upgrading -

PS4 Pro RM1800. Bought through gemfive so getting discount around RM215. Plus maybank cash back on weekend of RM50. Effective purchase price is RM1535.

If i were to purchase new ds4 n 1 tb hd the price would be 180 + 200= rm380. since all of these are bundled in the pro package, then i would minus rm380, bringing down the purchase price to rm1155.

So will sell my 2 years old ps4 at rm900 which i assume is fair considering the used ps4 price is between 850-1100. If i deduct rm900 from rm1155, my actual cost of upgrading to pro is rm255 and im getting spanking new unit with superior spec. Bought from gamemart ( my old ps4 also was bought from gamemart thru lazada).
