i just preordered ps4pro for rm1.6k incld postage to sarawak.

was thinking to buy a ps4 slim but it does not have an optical out (i need that for my Chord Mojo amp/dac). not to mention, the price difference is not so significance.

well, i dont have a 4k hdr TV (using Dell U2515H 1440p resolution monitor), so hopefully more developers will follow the Rise of The Tomb Raider graphical options route, giving ps4pro users the options of:
1) uprender to 4k (for those with 4k tv)
2) 1080p same texture quality with normal ps4 but with higher frame rates
3) 1080p but with higher quality texture than normal ps4.

chord mojo has optical input. it will output stereo sound.

i havent specifically used chord mojo->ps4 yet, since i sold my old ps4 before i got myself a chord mojo. but i did use centrace dacport as well as jdslabs o2/odac using the usb input, both of them worked flawlessly. since chord mojo has this DSD dac thingy going on, it requires a driver installation n therefore cant be used as a straight usb plug n play to ps4.

im using a pair of headphones (was Sennheiser HD650, HD800, etc), so yea, they definitely do sound great. way better than those 7.1 gaming headphones.

That depends on the game developers. Some games will be patched, some wont. The games without any patches wont receive any improvements.

Rise of the tomb raider for example, ps4pro users will be given options:
1) uprender the game to 4k for those with 4k tv
2) 1080p same graphica setting with normal ps4 but at higher frame rate (>45-60 fps instead of the normal version's 30fps lock)
3) 1080p 30fps lock but with bumped up graphics similar to pc's max settings.

So yea, this is all depending on the game developers

hmm still not sure whether to cancel my ps4 pro preorder or not (from game hypermart via gemfive, purchased on the 30th october ). was expecting it to arrive on the 10th, n now delayed till god knows when. and i'll be moving out in december

most of us r fed up with the situation n rather take any ready stocks from sony retail shops or other retailers apart from the ones selling gemfive.

game hypermart for example is taking in hundreds of preorders. How do u expect them to fulfill that huge amount of units when even physical official sony shops or even bigger gaming shops like Impulse can only bring in less than 50 units at a time, or even less than 5 units?

last time i cancelled my initial ps4 pro preorder, i had rm50+ cancellation refund fee. But that was before they knew about the stock issue.

most probably they'll make an exception for this case.

already proceeded to cancel my preorder from game hypermart via gemfive.

my preorder number was #186. so i dont think my order cancellation affects anything as game hypermart is not even confident of bringing in 100 units for their next week's stock lol. I would be surprised if they can even bring in that huge amount of stocks by next week. But if they do, oh well, congrats to those with preorder number <100.

anyway good luck to those that stick with ur preorders. hopefully u guys can get ur stocks before end of the year. my plan was to play final fantasy on ps4 pro, but i guess i have to push back that plan to sometime next year judging by the limited number of stocks (and incoming stocks) in malaysia.

my problem with game hypermart is that they have yet to receive any stock for first batch preorders whereas even smaller game retailers had already received theirs a couple of weeks back. and they cant provide info on the number of stocks that they r going to receive next week, whereas SP&K already received 3 units earlier this week. and since this stock issue is a region wide issue, i highly doubt i will get my preorder unit anytime soon.

how long does it take for gemfive to refund the money for ps4 pro preorder? from game hypermart for example.
