Not defending them but you should never, ever direct convert currency when buying imported products.

- TT selling rate is different.
- Import tax is 10 to 15%.
- Shipping charge is 5-10% depending on method of shipping.
- GST is 6%.
- Mark up is X amount of % by distributor.
- Add in X amount of % profit by reseller.

RM349 is actually very reasonable.

Yeah you're right. There are a few variables that need to be considered but the difference is quite large. We're talking an increase from US$60 to US$80 (approximately) when it arrived in Malaysia.

Authorised distributors already gotten their profit by selling the original price, unless scalpers/third party exporters decided to take advantage of the lacked of worldwide supply for the NES Classic, by buying it in bulk at the OG/lower price and selling it higher to the outside market.

AFAIK, Malaysia doesn't exercise import duty to electronic products. Maybe the shipping cost, GST and mark up price by sellers made the price go way up. But what do I know, I'm not in the gaming business. Haha

I agreed with recommendation of 49" KS7000 from all the above posters. You get a entry level SUHD at a good price and fulfilled all the criteria for the current 4K HDR gaming. I got one too from 11 Street at Rm3300 after "Tech Tuesday" discount and voucher (standby to get the voucher at 11am every Tuesday or it will be out of stock fast).

That was the best TV buying decision that I've done. You will be blown away when you play the 4K HDR demo movie on the KS7000.

Now I'm just waiting for the PS4 Pro from Game Hypermart. Hope you can decided what you gonna get soon!

US $60 is just the retail price, not including tax. Different states in the US has different tax rates. So when you add the tax in, the difference is even closer.

No, "authorised" distros don't get their profit simply by selling at an SRP. There is no set SRP for the NESC, they are all determined internally after they are brought into the country.

Malaysia does have import duty on several electronic products - consoles are one of them as it is classified under "Electronics and Video Games".

I was in the gaming business locally many years ago, the profit earned by resellers aren't actually as exorbitant as many think. Less out everything after that, it's barely enough to even call it a worthwhile profit. As I said, RM349 is quite reasonable considering the circumstances this country is in.

Not to digress any further, this applies to the PS4 Pro as well.

KS7000 is the best bang for buck TV for HDR gaming in the market now. Btw, where did you get the 4k HDR demo?

Yeah, I agreed. If only Malaysia have a lower price for the 55" set like in the US, I would surely save up my money to buy that one. Haha.

You can download the HDR demo here: http://demo-uhd3d.com/categorie.php?tag=hdr

Try to look for the latest demo. I recommend you to download Samsung HDR - Wonderland and Quantum Dot Display demo for fantastic represantation of HDR picture. When you open the video, your TV will have a popup notification indicating a HDR video is been played. Another way to know is by looking at the HDR logo on the video "Play/Pause" menu. Enjoy!

I know for sure that KU6000 supported HDR10 but it lacked the "wide colour gamut" capability to display the HDR properties properly. Your TV doesn't have the required brightness (over 1000 nits) for HDR10 but it still support the HDR10 format, but display not as good as those TV with "wide colour gamut".

For example, in the Samsung HDR - Wonderland demo, those with "wide colour gamut" TV (e.g. KS7000) will see the sunlight covering the mountain like a real sunlight. The sunlight reflection on building windows in the demo also reflected like in real life. The clouds colours are lifelike just like you would see up in the sky. That how amazing HDR are and no, I'm not exaggerating.

Thanks man! I've yet to do a comparison on a TV set as the content on the net won't give justice as compared to what you see in person. I wonder how it would translate to video games tho. I have yet to receive my Pro sad.gif

Yeah me too. Still waiting for the Pro. I'll think you will see just fine on your KU6000, it still a good budget 4K HDR gaming TV as recommended by Rting.com. Here a link to make you feel assured of your purchased. biggrin.gif

Just for clarification, US model KU6300 is the same model with our KU6000, the only difference is the model numbers.

Hi guys, just now I went to Penang 1st avenue Best to look for tv. They told me Samsung no longer produce ks7000 for 49 inch. Only 55 and 60. But I will go for other shops to check again. Now I am deciding on ks7000 49 inch or Sony x8000d ( which I only saw that in Harvey Norman ) since ps4 pro delay, I will have some time to check some compatible tv.

@starz92 is right. Just order on 11 street. There is one trusted seller that have a lot of review there for their 49" KS7000 shipping and services. Even I purchased my KS7000 there and I fully recommend you purchase from this seller.

Haha. I bought from them on 1 Nov, arrived on 3 Nov. I gave a picture review for them in their 11 Street shop page too because I'm really satisfied with their services. Thankfully no light bleeding and back panel detaching problem on the unit that I got. biggrin.gif
