Hi, everyone out there! smile.gif
I'm a senior student who's studying in an Chinese Independence School in Malaysia, and there's a problem bothering me for a few months, so I decide to ask you guys to help me to solve my problem, and thank you very much for taking your precious time to read this wink.gif
Recently, I am starting to think about what universitiy I should further my studies after I graduated, but I didn't take SPM lessons so that means I only have UEC Certificate. And many of my relatives and friends started to blame me for not taking SPM and only focus on UEC exam because UEC Examination is way harder to get As than SPM and it'll be harder for me to attend university and also get a job in Malaysia since our government does not recognize UEC certificate but it's too late for me to take it because my school has already closed the registration for SPM lessons. I am hoping to attend foreign university in England, Australia, except for Taiwan and China because I hope I can study in a English environment instead of Chinese. So, is it true that it is very difficult for a UEC Graduates student like me to attend foreign university? Because from what I've heard, foreign universities do accept UEC certificate but they require higher entry standard like have to get at least 6As including English in order to get into the university. And can you guys please tell me what universities you know that'll accept UEC certificate and what's their entry standards. Is it possible for me to get a job in Malaysia after I came back from furthering my studies? And oh ya I'm planning to study Business Management in the future. Sorry for didn't mention this just now shocking.gif Lastly, my dad owns a not-so-big yet not-so-small kindergarten and he is hoping to let me to carry on but some of my friends told me that I must have SPM certificate to involve in this education field, so is this true?
That's my questions, hope you guys can help me or give me some advice and suggestions. Once again, thanks a lot and Happy New Year! biggrin.gif

Join a local private institution and do a foundation course, then transfer to AUS/UK/US. They provide substantial bursaries to students who scored well in their UEC examinations.

Happy New Year to you too!

It is true that your UEC results have to be quite good to be able to get enrolled straight into foreign universities. Singaporean Universities recognize it as well but their requirements are not that clear.

If the kindergarten belongs to your father, I think that you could manage it however you want since you are your own boss?

When you have your UEC, apply to those universities with UEC. If accepted, then problem solved. If not accepted, go for 'A' levels. Don't bother with those foundations because your options are limited with a foundation especially when you want to study overseas.

hey there, you have no worries.
i have only UEC as well. if you love to study in oversea, you have to take A level as the foundation. or depends the university accepts UEC or not.

and i think same thing happen to a only SPM holder.

in old time, need SPM for PTPTN, and now PTPTN opens for UEC holders as well, so i think there is really not necessary to have SPM unless you want to aim into National U.

For choices of foreign uni, you will face challenges if you want to get into better unis (UK,AUS etc), but it is possible, just make sure you do well on UEC. Are you on science or arts stream? (Arts is alot easier to impress foreign unis since you can get a huge bunch of As).

After graduating, if you plan to come back to Msia with a foreign degree, you shouldn't have much problem without an SPM.

Certain professions (eg law) require SPM grades to take the professional examinations. If you are set on business admin degree and the business field in the future, it is you capability and language skills that count (in that case opting for UK,AUS over China/TW is a great choice).

I don't know of any rule prohibiting people without SPMs from running kindergartens XD Such a rule will NOT make any sense lol
